Surrendering to the Light

Surrendering to the Light

I watch them unfold
So gently, so free
Nothing holds back
Their matchless beau-ty

Come into my garden
And witness the scene
I cannot understand
Deep within what it means

Why won’t you come
It touches my soul
So intense, God’s way
Bringing life around a pole

Such sweetness of fragrance
And colours so grand
Opening and opening
To the light of the land

The rose, so intense
Why don’t you care
It’s me you see
Blossoming out there

Why don’t you see
The ache in my heart
Of the new life blooming
So close to your heart

Come into my garden
Please seem a little interested
That rose that matters much
Is your wife or mother, tested

And now breaking free
From the coldness of winter
Surrendering to the light
Feeling warmth, love
Life – at last

Hallelujah

Oh! What a glorious day in heaven ‘twill be
When Jesus ariseth in hearts close to thee
Precious fragrance of saints hath risen, prevailed
For the Lord hath joyfully answered our prayers

Gladness and beautiful singing abounds
And angel’s faces lighten from the bright star at last, found
For the Lord hath calleth another sinner from shame
Hath calleth and won another child with His Name

IT’S CHRISTMAS MORNING (A Song)

Little Girl with Christmas Tree in the Snow

Dear Papa, dear papa
Wake up, wake up
It’s Christmas morning
And I hear the carollers calling
Singing and praising in the streets all aglow
Dear Papa, please sing and praise with me
And we’ll join in the street harmony
Oh! We’ll join in the street harmony

Dear Mama, dear mama
Wake up, wake up
It’s Christmas morning
And I’ve been awake all night
Wondering if there’s a present for me
Dear Mama, is there a present for me
Under the glistening Christmas tree
Oh! Under the glistening Christmas tree

Dear child, dear child
We’re awake, we’re awake
And yes, it’s Christmas morning
Let’s first bow our heads
Give thanks for everything we have
Dear child, let’s give thanks, then we’ll see
See what’s under that old Christmas tree
Oh! See what’s under that old Christmas tree

From Whence He Came

From Whence He Came (2)

Always remember the hay in the stable
And always remember that He is most able
No adorned room, no billowing softness
Just His Father’s dear love, His Father’s greatness

No private schooling, no Wedgwood plating
No iced dainties, not yet crowned as King
Had to go yonder for people to listen
Only a few following of His own Kinsmen

Humble, no proudness; but with much jubilation
Sharing the secrets of God’s own salvation
Oh! How it pained Him, the scoffers, His own
Would not listen or do what was shown

But He lives, is alive
And all heaven proclaims
That Jesus is Lord
And remains to this day
Jesus is Lord
Yes Jesus is Lord
And all will acknowledge
With shame or with joy

DREAMING OF A CHRISTMAS SO LONG, LONG AGO (A Song)

Christmas Angel

Sometimes I go to a place
I have been
And remember the sweet joy
Of yesteryear
That is when
Forgotten melodies arise
Dreaming of a Christmas so long, long ago

Christmas Candle

And log fires a-crackling
And snowflakes a-dancing
And church bells a-ring-ring-ring-ringing
And carollers singing
Little children with eyes brimming
Fill precious dreams of love and giving
Of a Christmas so long, long ago

Christmas Candle

Dreaming of a Christmas so long, long ago
I bring these December memories
Those distant sweet memories
To each and every Christmas Day
‘Cause each year’s sweet memories
Will always become
The Christmas dreams of so long, long ago

All is Love

My kitty-proof Christmas tree

All is Love

All is love
This is His story
Love from Heaven came
Flowed down into this old, worn heart
And made me new again

Love, love
Oh! Why did He die for me
Love, love
Rose triumphant and now I see

All is love
This is my story
Love to Heaven sent
Lifted up to the perfume of His heart
And shared with Love’s pure scent

The Mixed-Up Toys (A Children’s Poem)

Cute Elephant

Kanga the elephant goes hip-hop
No! Kanga the elephant goes jump–bop
Kanga the elephant goes hip-hop
All the way to the zoo

Elley the kangaroo goes trump-pet
No! Elley the kangaroo goes crump-pet
Elley the kangaroo goes trump-pet
All the way to the zoo

Cute Orange Cat

Woofy the cat goes woof-woof
No! Woofy the cat goes goof-goof
Woofy the cat goes woof-woof
All the way to the zoo

Red Collar Dog

Kitty the dog goes meow-meow
No! Kitty the dog goes wow-wow
Kitty the dog goes meow-meow
All the way to the zoo

Pony

Daisy the horse goes moo-moo
No! Daisy the horse goes twit-to-woo
Daisy the horse goes moo-moo
All the way to the zoo

Cow with Black Spots

Neddy the cow goes neigh-neigh
No! Neddy the cow goes hey-hey
Neddy the cow goes neigh-neigh
All the way to the zoo

So what are they all going to do-do?
They’re all on the way to the zoo-zoo
What are they all going to do-do?
Let’s all go and have a look too!

Well there’s Kanga and Elley and Woofy
And Kitty and Daisy and Neddy
And don’t forget you-who?
Yes we’ve finally arrived at the zoo

Kanga and Elley are talking
Woofy and Kitty too
Daisy and Neddy are nodding
Something has gone askew

Now what could that be I wonder?
Elephants don’t hip-hop
Kangaroos don’t trump-pet
Cats don’t woof-woof
And dogs don’t meow
Do cows neigh
And horses moo?
I bet you are beginning to wonder that too!

Knock – knock – knock – knock – knock —- tap – tap

Wake up
Wake up
A voice calls out
It’s time to wake up
And get out of bed

But first move these toys
Out of the way
There’s Kanga the Kangaroo
And Elley the elephant
Woofy the dog
And Kitty the cat
Daisy the cow
And Neddy the horse

Oh! It’s all been a dream
You silently smile
What else could it have been
For real — Of course!

LOOKS LIKE KANGA’S GONE MISSING 🙂

Forever A Rosebud …

Forever A Rosebud ...

(A beautiful rose from the dozen that my darling husband came home with … two bunches in one day.
This one’s definitely not a rosebud forever … it’s opening in radiant beauty.)

…….

Thank you so much to all who made my birthday an extra special one yesterday …
I am so grateful for the new friendships I have formed over this year …
You are truly a gift from God … you are there when my heart is full of joy … you are there when my heart is overflowing with tears … may you be blessed always … please know I am (to the best of my ability), there for you … if you ever need prayer … just let me know xxxx

…….

FOREVER A ROSEBUD
A tiny rosebud fell near my feet
Just the other day
Broken just before it bloomed
Yet so perfect in every way

It never did unleash its beauty
Just sat in water staring
And all of the glory and perfume possessed
Were kept wrapped up, not for sharing

The petals they remained intact
Not one of them unfolded
Such wondrous beauty left unspoken
Such beauty lovingly moulded

And so it is with all who say
We are Christ Jesus’ and His alone
We fall from the Vine
Sometimes broken and bruised
Sometimes finding we are on our own lonely path
And unless we return and walk in His steps
Confessing Him
Grasping His hand
Our beauty, compassion and growth
Fragrance for our Lord
Remains hidden

STRENGTHEN MY FAITH LORD (A Song of Encouragement)

Strengthen My Faith Lord
It’s not by feeling but by faith Lord
It’s not by feeling but by faith
That this once guilty heart’s now safe
That this once guilty heart’s now safe
So I will praise You forever Lord
Praise You forever
Trust You forever
‘Cause You poured Your mercy
In and through me
Yes! You poured Love’s mercy through me

Chorus
So I’ll hold the shield of faith Lord
Close to my heart
Close to my heart
And if my arms grow weak and weary Lord
I know You’ll strengthen me
I know You’ll strengthen me
You’ll place the hands of Your love
Over my unprotected heart

Strengthen my faith Lord
Strengthen my faith
When feelings overwhelm Lord
Draw me back to Your heart
And what Your word saith
‘Cause my faith is a gift Lord
A free gift given me
And there’s more for the asking
So Lord, may it increase and be
Forever, forever poured into me

I’ll praise You forever
I’ll trust You forever
‘Cause You poured Your mercy
In and through me
Yes! You poured Love’s mercy through me

Chorus
So I’ll hold the shield of faith Lord
Close to my heart
Close to my heart
And if my arms grow weak and weary Lord
I know You’ll strengthen me
I know You’ll strengthen me
You’ll place the hands of Your love
Over my unprotected heart
