The Everlasting Rose

vector beautiful red rose illustration

My love, My love, take a petal from the rose
Take a petal from the rose that I gave you

Each one holds a key to the secret gift
Oh! Let Love restore the brokenness in you

The petal of hope
It’s filled with new dreams
With all of My love
Deserts into streams

The petal of joy
It’s filled with new praise
New oil to anoint
And flow through your days

The petal of peace
It’s filled with comfort
Embrace all given
My arms will support

The petal of love
What more can I say
The petal of choice
Along life’s hard way

My love, My love, take a petal from the rose
Take a petal from the rose that I gave you

Each one holds a key to the secret gift
Oh! Let Love restore the brokenness in you

Yes, there’s a petal of encouragement
A petal, soft and grand
A petal for when discouragement
Leaves a heart sunk in grief’s sand

Petals, a petal
Purity, serene
Words cannot write words
To grasp a rose, so serene

So take what I’ve given you
It’s a balm for where it hurts
Let the fragrance of the perfect rose
The fragrance of the perfect rose
Fill you deep within, so very deep within
Each petal, a rose story, red covers every sin

My love, My love, take a petal from the rose
Take a petal from the rose that I gave you

Each one holds a key to the secret gift
Oh! Let Love restore all brokenness in you

The Bridal Song

wedding bouquet hd picture

I loved you ere the world began
Your heart, searching, it beat in Mine
Distant desire, you came to Me
My bride, arrayed in linen, fine

And words were whispered longingly
And your cry mingled with sweet tears
My ears, you opened with your love
Lost, now gone, the abandoned fears

Chorus
Infused with endless love
Fragranced, and arms embraced
This love is heaven-sent
I’m yours, you’re Mine, we’re His

With each passing moment
With each breath that you breathe
I’ve always known, seen you
Wanting you to believe

The days drew us closer
Time held us far apart
Moments I created
Perfect, they filled your heart

Chorus
Infused with endless love
Fragranced, and arms embraced
This love is heaven-sent
I’m yours, you’re Mine, we’re His

Soon we’ll be together
Now, and eternally
Two hearts will be safe, bound
Captivated, set free

And joy, songs abundant
Ring out forevermore
The wedding supper’s here
Sealed with a kiss adore

Chorus
Infused with endless love
Fragranced, and arms embraced
This love is heaven-sent
I’m yours, you’re Mine, we’re His

And words were whispered longingly
And your cry mingled with sweet tears
My ears, you opened with your love
Lost, now gone, the abandoned fears

I loved you ere the world began
Your heart, searching, it beat in Mine
Distant desire, you came to Me
My bride, arrayed in linen, fine

Honesty

Honesty

Following dearly in His footsteps
Tracing them tenderly with my feet
Saying I never ever will deny Him
But the Lord turned, and looked upon me

Shall the truth be hidden from Him
Deepest, honest thoughts under clouds of shame
Surely this I cannot conceal or prosper
The Lord turned, and looked upon me again

Please forgive my real intentions
Up they spring when I don’t confide
Help me, strengthen me, never leave me
Still the Lord turned, and looked upon me, His child

Are we really being faithful – Proud of ourselves
Telling all, in Him we trust
Do we daily sin without confession
Will the Lord turn, and look upon us?

“And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.” Luke 22:61-62

1. Hast thou heard Him, seen Him, known Him?
Is not thine a captured heart? Chief among ten
thousand own Him, Joyful choose the better part.

Chorus: Captivated by His beauty, Worthy tribute
haste to bring. Let His peerless worth constrain
thee, Crown Him now unrivaled King.

2. What can strip the seeming beauty, From the
idols of the earth? Not a sense of right or duty, But
the sight of peerless worth.

3. ‘Tis that look that melted Peter, ‘Tis that face that
Stephen saw, ‘Tis that heart that wept with Mary,
Can alone from idols draw.

4. In your service Lord defend us. In our hearts keep
watch and ward. In the world where’r you send us,
May your kingdom come O Lord.

For A Loved One Departed (Written For My Dear Mother)

The reflection of heaven’s rose garden

sky 1

Upon the branches of my heart
For you, this poem is written
The love you gave, the love you shared
The tenderness that softened

And on the paths that lead me there
Your footsteps are remembered
Guiding and advising me
You’ll never be forgotten

And on the leaves that bound my heart
My family life is written
Joy and pain, happiness and gain
The aroma will ever remind me

And on the petals of flowers found
Found wrapped around my heart
Sweet words of gentle encouragement
That trusted who I was

The aroma of those flowers linked
To leaves and branches and paths
Take me back to when you first left
Though not as often now
But the tears of dew that water my heart
Will always remember you

Fields of Plenty

Fields of Plenty

Fields of plenty are mine to adore
And blessings surround me, of this I am sure
Fed from the True Vine for evermore
All this because I opened the door

The door of my heart, where I heard a knocking
And who was without – the sovereign, divine King
Oh! He has entered for me, my very heart’s asking
Brought His Word to my life and now I can sing

Sing of His wondrous works done for me
Sing for He’s made me His for all eternity
Sing when I’m joyous or in sorrow on bended knee
Sing of His righteousness He fastened to that tree

On that tree that was laden with His misery of mocking
Little flowers lay waiting to soak up His loving
And where the blood was poured with bruising and hurting
Sprung up precious fields of plenty for me, all believing

YOU MEAN MORE TO ME THAN MOTHER’S DAY (A Song for Anyone with a Sweet Mother’s Heart)

YOU MEAN MORE TO ME THAN MOTHERS DAY

O the sweetness of those words
You mean more to me than Mother’s Day
Touches deep, releases joy
Something only a dearest child could say

Chorus
Sometimes distance has its way
Sometimes others have their say
But still, my love survives in May
‘Cause you mean more to me than Mother’s Day
Yes, you mean more to me than Mother’s Day

Brings with them, sweet butterflies
Of fleeting memories from yesteryear
Interspersed with cherished love
Can sense their closeness, even if not near

Chorus
Sometimes distance has its way
Sometimes others have their say
But still, my love survives in May
‘Cause you mean more to me than Mother’s Day
Yes, you mean more to me than Mother’s Day

Brings a bouquet of sweet intent
And hugs that reach to eternity
Thankfulness for heaven’s gift
Preciousness with a face that’s so pretty

O may I feel your arms surround me
May I feel your breath upon me
May I feel your love towards me
Sweet child, sweet child, of mine

Chorus
Sometimes distance has its way
Sometimes others have their say
But still, my love survives in May
‘Cause you mean more to me than Mother’s Day
Yes, you mean more to me than Mother’s Day

AND NOW A PRAYER FOR ANYONE WITH A SWEET MOTHER’S HEART

YOU MEAN MORE TO ME THAN MOTHERS DAY (2)

Dearest Heavenly Father
I come before You to lift every Mother unto You
And even though Mother’s Day is a wordly affair
And every day should be Mother’s Day in a child’s heart
You are love
You know our need for love
So I lift all Mothers unto You
All who have never been Mothers
Yet have a Mothering heart
All who are with child at this very moment
But are on the verge of terminating that life
All who are with child at this very moment
But are fearful of losing that life
Due to complications, accidents, medications
All who have lost a child
All who have lost children
Whether miscarried
Stillborn
As an infant
A toddler
Child
Young teen
Teenager
Young adult
An adult
… to silence
All who have a Mothering heart
And through silent tears
Are unable to have children
But Lord
But with God
Nothing is impossible
All who are awaiting the news
Of a missing child
Desperate for news
Hoping, praying
That they will be returned
Safely into their nuturing arms
All who are unable to spend
Mother’s Day together
Due to distance
Sickness
Disagreements
Anger
Hurt
Pride
And any other Mother who due
To no fault of their own
Is just unable to share
This precious day
As is every day
Together
All Mothers who have lost their Mothers
As a child
And never knew them
As an adult
The grief is the same
Anyone who has lost their Mother
Those whose heart is breaking
Because their Mother is so sick
Fear worrying how they will cope without them
O Lord
O Lord
Please also bless those spending
Today together
May they be aware of the gift they have
May Your love abound
May Your love abound
Shed Your love abroad
May it enter deep within all hearts
Unto You Lord
Unto You Lord
Precious Lord
In Jesus Name I pray
Amen

HE WALKS WITH ME (Song Lyrics)

He Walks With Me (A Song)

When the beach looms empty
When the sands are torn
Broken with lost promises
Tears before the morn

Scattered shells in pieces
The rain beats against my heart
Driftwood lines the edges
Of this story, about to start

I step in time with His footsteps
The seagulls echo my cry
The sand crabs run for cover
They know the Creator is nigh

Chorus
And I walk in the shallows with my Saviour
I walk where the waters are deep
It doesn’t matter the height of the tide
Just as long as He walks with me

We share words of love and listen
To each other’s plea to be heard
He tells of His love enduring
I tell of my love for His word

And as we walk hand in hand, now in silence
He gently picks up a handful of sand
Lets it flow in gracious stages
Like time standing still by His hand

We walk and walk and it grows dark
The sun splashes a rainbow high
Reflections of a perfect day
And I no longer need to question why

Chorus
And I walk in the shallows with my Saviour
I walk where the waters are deep
It doesn’t matter the height of the tide
Just as long as He walks with me

Why does He care for me so sweetly
When there are so many precious souls
He turns, smiles and then He’s gone
And across the ocean His Spirit rolls

I cannot explain the love that He’s left
So very deep inside of me
He’s filled my heart with thankfulness
And on this beach walk I found the Key

And this Key has unlocked my once closed heart
And sprayed it with the ocean’s fragrance
Covered it with the shells of love
Releasing me to praise and joyfully dance

Chorus
Yes, I’ve walked in the shallows with my Saviour
I’ve walked where the waters were deep
It didn’t matter the height of the tide
‘Cause my Saviour, He walked with me

And it won’t ever matter the height of the tide
‘Cause my Saviour always walks with me
Yes, my Saviour … He always walks with me

WHEN LOVE BREAKS THROUGH (Song Lyrics)

IMG_8616

When love breaks through, and mends a broken heart
It finds its home awaiting, prepared for a brand new start

Love and truth, they are settled
Firmly planted in your mind
But there’s a wall between them
Your mind, and the beats of life

And every day as you read
His beautiful living Word
Knowledge grows; but slowly fades
All gained is lost in the fog

Chorus
When love wins, and breaks right through
Love hearts crush and pierce the blue
Filling hidden recesses
Filling, and restoring you

There’s love, there’s peace, and there’s joy
Just bursting to be released
But something keeps the door closed
To heavenly gifts, so free

Trials of tears, and trials of woe
Bitterness, unforgiveness
Seek His Kingdom first, forgive
And love, it will then break through

Chorus
When love wins, and breaks right through
Love hearts crush and pierce the blue
Filling hidden recesses
Filling, and restoring you

Abundant love will pour forth
And tear that hard wall right down
Love will beat triumphantly
And mend all the broken pain

When love breaks through and mends a broken heart
It finds its home awaiting, prepared for a brand new start

When love breaks through

He Lives, We Die

purple water lily

The stone which hid, is rolled away
Jesus has risen; we are watching, swaying, and cry
Help us comprehend, dear Lord
He lives, the price, beyond our means was paid

He lives, hallelujah, we live
And because He lives, so must we die
Die to self, it’s our turn now
But all glory, He has blessed us to live in Christ

Surrender all your right to self
Grind emotions, thoughts and plans prepared
Let your Saviour’s power prevail in you
A new creation, tears and repentance succeed

Standing in the power of His mighty, precious Son
Escape the hold of earthly things
And acquaintances that beckon forth
Listen for that soft, small voice in turmoil that unfolds

Jesus calls us, gently leads us
We have no right or hold on the old life
And just as a flower bursts forth with sweet newness
In pain and anguish, we are pushed out of hardness

Thank you for a life refreshed
Thank you for a life eternal
Thank you that you died, without surrender
We sing praises to our ever-loving Father

The Little Seed With the Biggest Heart (An Easter Poem for All Ages)

symphony butterfly tree vector

The little seed slept by itself
Not sure where life would lead
Little did it know that one day soon
It would be planted, and humanity freed

That little seed, all bound and safe
Beneath the crumbling earth
Held captive in its memory
The story of our dear Saviour’s birth

It had laid silently, watching on
As days and years passed by
Awaiting its moment of beautiful glory
Before the world, when every heart would sigh

You see, that little, humble seed
Would soon be sown and grow
Into the most precious tree
Upon which love would eternally flow

Up and up and up it grew
And no-one paid attention
But that little seed with the biggest heart
Soon had a purpose within the story of salvation

’Cause it was cut down in its prime
And formed into the well known cross
Carrying mankind’s sins upon it
Feeling the pain of wounded blood loss

But even though that little seed
That became the most famous tree
Felt none of the turmoil, torture, rejection
It held in its arms … sweet mercy and grace for me

So as you remember what you’ve been shown
How Jesus died for everyone
Please know that only in receiving His forgiveness
Will your life be free, and victory won
