THIS SAND WILL NEVER HOLD ME UP (Song Lyrics)

Beach 2

Chorus
No, no, no, no, no
Please don’t build lost dreams upon the sand
They may shine like gold; but never stand
Stop trying to mend the crumbling wall
With sweet worldly fill, it’s sure to fall

This sand will never hold me up
As I walk, and look for treasures
Seeking for someone, anything
Wasting time on empty leisures

It looks so vast, so deep, so firm
And sometimes, the tide makes it so
But in comes intense furnace heat
And burns where the tears of hope flow

It is soon too soft to walk on
This once appealing field of gold
Dreams sink, and there’s no-one around
To catch me, strengthen me, and hold

But I trusted in all I saw
I said, I trusted in all things
Things laid before desperate eyes
Now I see, the bondage it brings

I’d been trying to build this wall
Each day, upon my lonely heart
Piece upon piece of worthlessness
Just leaving me falling apart

Chorus
No, no, no, no, no
Please don’t build lost dreams upon the sand
They may shine like gold; but never stand
Stop trying to mend the crumbling wall
With sweet worldly fill, it’s sure to fall

I’d place each begging so called gift
Those that only money can buy
Stand back, feel myself slowly sink
Once again feel the pain, and sigh

Well this kept going on and on
Three steps forward, three steps backward
Till a beautiful stranger, He
Showed me love to build me upward

This sand will never hold me up
Only love can mend brokenness
I may be brought down in pieces
But He will complete to wholeness

He will perfect me in His time
No more to do this on my own
Dazzling jewels He soon will place
Strong foundation, no longer blown

Who is this beautiful stranger
Appearing at my hour of need
’Tis Jesus, my Lord and Saviour
Took my hand and with His, did lead

Chorus
No, no, no, no, no
Please don’t build lost dreams upon the sand
They may shine like gold; but never stand
Stop trying to mend the crumbling wall
With sweet worldly fill, it’s sure to fall

Only the One who made the earth
Spoke, and the heavens did sparkle
Can embroider each wall of life
Give solid ground on Holy Hill

I’VE BEEN IN THE VALLEY (A Song of Encouragement for Those Entering in, Already in, or Leaving)

I'VE BEEN IN THE VALLEY

Lord, there was a time
You walked me through the valley

But You have lifted me, yes me
Upon the mountain realm so high
Lifted me out of desperation
Lifted me from despair
And now my dearest Saviour
At last I breathe the mountain air
Feel new strength and life again
O sweet mountain air
O sweet mountain air

Chorus
O I’ve been in the valley
Where many have passed before in pain
Many are soon to enter this journey
And their life will never be the same

Yes, I’ve been in the valley
Where many tears washed the road that heals
Washed and released many a treasure
That only a walk in the valley reveals

Lord, it used to be
That I thought I’d never leave
Never escape this weary way
Where the birds were ever silent
And no sweet flower bloomed for me
Day and night, the turmoil
Kept me from sensing any love
Until You Lord, this illness rent
O You freed me, lifted me
And this illness rent
And this illness rent

Chorus
O I’ve been in the valley
Where many have passed before in pain
Many are soon to enter this journey
And their life will never be the same

Yes, I’ve been in the valley
Where many tears washed the road that heals
Washed and released many a treasure
That only a walk in the valley reveals

O I praised Him when the road was dim
I praise Him now, I praise, praise Him
I praise Him now, I praise, praise Him

Yes, I praised Him when the road was dim
And I praise Him now, I praise, praise Him
I praise Him now, I praise, praise Him

Lord, there was a time
You walked me through the valley

In the Midst of It All – When Trials Threaten to Overwhelm

Complete

In the midst of it all
Through fiery trials and more
I could not go alone
Your soft, scarred hand
Leads me gently home to shore

In the midst of it all
You are there with me
I need not ask for deliverance
But only to feel and know
That my Saviour I might see

In the midst of it all
As painful as it may be
Oh! Lord remember me
Your Son has been before
I bow on bended knee

In the midst of it all
I will not completely fall
He walks beside me still
Whispers only “Be still”
Jesus my All-in-All

Psalm 124 … God Is On Our Side

red dinghy

Psalm 124

1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;

2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

In Silent Times

fishing boats on calm beach

In silent times of tears I pray
And listen closely for Your guiding voice
A voice of sweetness offering hope
What else can I do, what other choice?

The need is great, despair would set in
Help thou me, my dearest Lord
To pray for those in desperate need
I feel useless, without Your sweet Word

Pour out Your mercy and love, most divine
Forgive; forgive us, those flailing with time
May Your grace, Your hand, Your blessed dear Spirit
Seek and find lost souls in this family of mine

Lighten the darkness, lift from the valley below
Silent times will then ring with glorious, sweet praise
Oh! Give God the glory, the fragrance sublime
And hope and salvation will triumphantly raise

Once Upon a Winter’s Heart

Once Upon A Winter's Heart
Blustery winds beat relentlessly against the pane
And this heart lost within itself sighs wearily
But I am resting safely ‘neath protective wings
Of One who loves me dearly

Oh! Coldness of night and darkness of day
Treasures that draw my oft times wandering eye
If it were not for His love and amazing grace
They might just steal this breath away

And So I thank You, my Father, my Father of mine
For Your nearness, in the furnace of fiery trials
Thawing out deep recesses of once dying frost
Sweetness of warming gift, my heart, it defrosts

‘Move That Mountain’ – Encouragement, Hope and Truth When All Seems Lost

matterhorn

And when all seems like it is lost

And those that surround you, that you love at all cost

Are walking along a different road

So are unable to help you carry the load

And when there is darkness from a mountain in sight

One that cannot be conquered without a brave fight

Cry out to Him who has already trod the path

Take His hand, don’t let go, though others may laugh

And make you feel guilty, unworthy, unloved

Incapable to surrender all cares to above

Reach out, reach out, step in time with the Saviour

The mountain can’t harm you with Jesus your Saviour

That mountain that threatens your very existence

Creates shadows and fears, doubts and resistance

Listen within for His saving still, small voice

For you can move mountains, with Him as your source

*** NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD ***

Fields of Plenty

Fields of Plenty

Fields of plenty are mine to adore
And blessings surround me, of this I am sure
Fed from the True Vine for evermore
All this because I opened the door

The door of my heart, where I heard a knocking
And who was without – the sovereign, divine King
Oh! He has entered for me, my very heart’s asking
Brought His Word to my life and now I can sing

Sing of His wondrous works done for me
Sing for He’s made me His for all eternity
Sing when I’m joyous or in sorrow on bended knee
Sing of His righteousness He fastened to that tree

On that tree that was laden with His misery of mocking
Little flowers lay waiting to soak up His loving
And where the blood was poured with bruising and hurting
Sprung up precious fields of plenty for me, all believing

HE’LL BE WITH ME (Song Lyrics)

Written for a dear loved one who is hurting …

tropical storm is coming

Chorus
He’ll be with me in the wild, wild storms
Those which threaten to knock me over
He’ll be with me in the fiery trials
Those that still smolder under cover
When all seems hopeless, no end in sight
And darkness appears to be winning
I’ll look into His beautiful eyes
And know, He cared from the beginning

And so I cry
Father in heaven, I know You’re there; but I feel so very alone
Father, please speak the Word, and lift me to Your throne

All plans are crumbling fast, each day delivers grief
I’m being cornered, and it’s shaking my belief

I want to do what’s right, and shun all that is wrong
But waves and flames around me, have silenced my song

Each time I get back up, here comes the floor again
Trying hard to see You, forgetting all this pain

Chorus
He’ll be with me in the wild, wild storms
Those which threaten to knock me over
He’ll be with me in the fiery trials
Those that still smolder under cover
When all seems hopeless, no end in sight
And darkness appears to be winning
I’ll look into His beautiful eyes
And know, He cared from the beginning

But I know You’re there, and because of this, I say
Lord be magnified this day, magnified this day

For I can do nothing, and nothing I can do
To bring about deliverance, it’s up to You

And so I’ll rest in the storm, sing in the trial
This is not forever, only for a short while

I will get stronger, and the sorrows soon will leave
As long as my beating heart to Your heart, can cleave

I’ll listen to His word
For His word is all I need
His word created, sustains me
His word will always feed
And one day I’ll stand before Him
And be shown my life in His
I’ll see His protective arms locked in mine
With each breath He ever freed

Chorus
He’ll be with me in the wild, wild storms
Those which threaten to knock me over
He’ll be with me in the fiery trials
Those that still smolder under cover
When all seems hopeless, no end in sight
And darkness appears to be winning
I’ll look into His beautiful eyes
And know, He cared from the beginning

Far, Far Away

beautiful heart of the sea 03 hd picture

Far, far away I hear You calling
Around the mountain, so far away
I need You so badly, help me to listen
And place my feet back on the chosen way

Things are happening and many are hurting
Heavenly rain feels like it’s falling as hail
To You and You only, my praises are given
I’m feeling the pressure of each hammered nail

I cherish the thoughts that bring tears to my eyes
Sending streams of soft tears down saddened face
A song, some notes, a bagpipe is playing
That beautiful hymn, “Amazing Grace”

And then another plays and I’m back in time
The tears fall into a bottomless hole
A hole that can only be filled by knowing
Knowing and hearing “It Is Well With My Soul”
