HONESTY

Following dearly in His footsteps
Tracing them tenderly with my feet
Saying I never ever will deny Him
But the Lord turned, and looked upon me

Shall the truth be hidden from Him
Deepest, honest thoughts under clouds of shame
Surely this I cannot conceal or prosper

Please forgive my real intentions
Up they spring when I don’t confide

Are we really being faithful – Proud of ourselves
Telling all, in Him we trust
Do we daily sin without confession

SAYING GOODBYE TO 2020

And as the year dwindles to time unknown
We sit and contemplate all we have known …

Throughout the year that has just passed us by
Think of friends we have lost, sweet loved ones we’ve watched die

Time does not stop and let us disembark from our life’s line
We may not have escaped pain, we see our age in decline …

But many have witnessed kindness, compassion and found much joy
Helping one another through the terrors out to destroy

Marriages, births, birthdays, anniversaries, our love on cards we explain
And the birth and death of our Saviour is remembered once again …

Yes, 2020 will soon be another diary’s memory
To all my dear blogging friends, may 2021 be blessed and forever cheery
