Just When I Thought

creative heartshaped 01 hd picture

So just when I thought
It is well, ‘Praise the Lord’ at long last
Along comes another test
And once again I relive the past

So much sadness, tears
I cannot understand
This wheel, it just keeps turning
Spinning webs of too soft sand

And on this whirling sand
No security is found
To find a foothold fast
On a haven needed sound

But there is much strength deep within
Hidden, revealed and yet
For underneath that sinking sand
Is solid rock on which my feet do set

It Only Takes One Tear

bucket tree geese vector rainbow

Hi there everyone,
I’ve been pretty quiet around Poetry Cottage for awhile now. The Lord has blessed me with so, so many beautiful words over the last four years … it all feels very ‘dry’ now. He just placed upon my heart to start at the very beginning and repost, so that is what I will do. Not every one; but as He leads.

For my new followers and those reading for the first time, welcome and I pray that as we walk upon this beautiful path of scattered fragrance that you will be blessed. For those of you have read them before, may a new favorite be found, and may you, too, be blessed. To God be the glory.

As Christmas approaches I will intersperse the relevant posts.

IT ONLY TAKES ONE TEAR

Each day brings forth a new beginning
Tears dry
Tears fall
Sometimes they just remain hidden
They help to cleanse and heal
They help to release pain
They help to find our lives within
A rainbow they conceal

DON’T LOOK BACK (A Song of Encouragement)

DON'T LOOK BACK

What’s the use of reminiscing
If the memories break your heart
Let go ‘cause Jesus always has you
And He won’t let you fall apart
O no He won’t let you fall apart

Chorus
So don’t look back
If it grieves you so
Know that all of your pain
And sorrow
Into His heart
At the cross did flow
Push through in His strength
No matter how slow
Let go, let go, let go

Today’s tomorrow’s yesterday
So live each moment passing through
Not as a rose, wilted and scentless
But with love in all that you do
O infuse love in all that you do

Chorus
So don’t look back
If it grieves you so
Know that all of your pain
And sorrow
Into His heart
At the cross did flow
Push through in His strength
No matter how slow
Let go, let go, let go

Yes, it’s painfully hard I know
To turn off repeat and press play
It often hurts without much warning
And can hamper a healing way
Don’t let it hamper a healed way

Bridge
Don’t look back
You’re on the right track
And Jesus has cleared the way
Just trust Him to use the tears you’ve shed
To water sweet flowers that have sprung up to stay

Chorus
So don’t look back
If it grieves you so
Know that all of your pain
And sorrow
Into His heart
At the cross did flow
Push through in His strength
No matter how slow
Let go, let go, let go

TRIUMPHANTLY (A Song of Comfort)

TRIUMPHANTLY

Chorus
O He sings with me, sings with me
Sweetest Jesus, He sings with me
In the suffering of my trials
Through many a tear
Together our voices
Together our voices
Rise triumphantly
Rise triumphantly

In troubles
In fear
In worry
He is near
Breaks through the storms
Of darkness and pain
He joins me in worship
Breaks the shackles of shame
So triumphantly
So triumphantly

Chorus
O He sings with me, sings with me
Sweetest Jesus, He sings with me
In the suffering of my trials
Through many a tear
Together our voices
Together our voices
Rise triumphantly
Rise triumphantly

When lonely
When scared
When abandoned
He is near
And He sends heaven’s chorus
Angelically
Showers of pure comfort
Arranged perfectly
So triumphantly
So triumphantly

Chorus
O He sings with me, sings with me
Sweetest Jesus, He sings with me
In the suffering of my trials
Through many a tear
Together our voices
Together our voices
Rise triumphantly
Rise triumphantly

EACH TIME YOU CRY (A Song of Compassion)

EACH TIME YOU CRY

Chorus
My heart is beating out of tune
The wellspring is no longer dry
And very soon will come release
‘cause my love for you, my love for you
Sheds a tear each time you cry

So wait
Just wait
You will never be alone
Take this tear
That is shed for you
And mix it with your very own

And then
The pain
Will find its sad, weary way
Much quicker
And weep a goodbye
Two tears will always have more say

Chorus
My heart is beating out of tune
The wellspring is no longer dry
And very soon will come release
‘cause my love for you, my love for you
Sheds a tear each time you cry

I’m here
For you
The miles may separate
I love you
So let this entwine
It’ll never be too late

Your tears
My tears
This is our connection
May it shed
New blossoms each day
Sweet fragrance with affection

Chorus
My heart is beating out of tune
The wellspring is no longer dry
And very soon will come release
‘cause my love for you, my love for you
Sheds a tear each time you cry

Is It Just Me ???

hands prayer hope

Sometimes I believe that the Lord pens His love and answers to our prayers through us. Yes, they are for the comfort of others; but how many times have we (as poets/writers/bloggers etc) reread ‘our’ posts and been ministered unto at just the perfect moment? (and we read them as if someone else had written it for us!) … Or am I the only one who feels like this? God is so good and His mercies are new every day. Every day He paints a fresh rainbow upon all that He has given us and even though the tears may still fall, they are cleansed with the beautiful colours of heaven’s healing palette.

A Crying Rose

rosa red beautiful girl
Crying in the shadows
Feeling so alone
Tears are falling softly
Captured not to roam
Holding and reminding
Dreams of long ago
Tears, they will not give in
Until your heart, it lets them go
They show your sweet reflection
If you would just stop and see
Of a beautiful girl, a handsome boy
Or maybe, they’ll just show me

Seasons of the Heart

Seasons of the HeartShining beads of watermelon glow
As my heart leaps to and fro
Dew falls like the heavy rain
Set upon life’s windowpane
Etched deep beneath the smoldering embers
Branches of time, well they remember
Frosty here and autumn showers
Sunshine’s hidden in depth of flowers
Lost now till another season fills
Pain and tears out of reach still
Yellow into red into white into green
Rolling through like a photo shoot dream
Warmth of rosy love in peel
Hearts of flesh encased in steel

The Sunshine Poem

Tears of SunshineSunshine upon a broken heart
Sunshine when life’s been torn apart
Sunshine leaves behind painfully sweet tears
Sunshine warms and melts the fears
Sunshine oh! sweet sunshine sings
Sunshine fills the birdies’ wings
Sunshine strengthens and embraces
Sunshine reflects His love on faces
Sunshine sends glorious rays of hope
Sunshine allows one in sorrow to cope
Sunshine floods and spreads the news
Sunshine dissipates the endless blues
Sunshine radiates the reflection of rainbows
Sunshine a beam of light on which flows
Sunshine yes the Son shines and lets everyone know
Sunshine from above filters mercy aglow
Sunshine oh! let the Son shine
Sunshine oh! let the Son shine
And may the moonbeams of your dark night
Illuminate the sunshine in your daylight
