Living Water

beautiful scenery 02 hd picture

Should we never stop to wonder
Of our Saviour’s love for us
Should we never thirst nor hunger
Seek His pardon, that, we must

When our very lives are draining
Into the sea of no return
When we feel like we are drowning
Living water flowing heals us, to You we turn

Please let your Living Water flow
Throughout our lives and in those we know
Cleanse us with Your Living Word
We praise the Lord for the moment first heard

Thank you for drawing us from the darkened pit
Thank you for causing our paths to be lit
Lit by the light of Your immutable Way
Take our hands we might falter, a promise forever, be our stay

Upon the path scattered with countless treasures, love and gold
Too much, too beautiful and in our hands they unfold
For these perfect gifts would slide right out of our lives
Unless our hand is in Your hand, held by scars of strife
-And they will only be ours, when they rest in Your life-

A Family Prayer

vintage vector

Lord, You are Light, You are Love, You are Life
Fill me with pure breath, pure knowledge and delight
Watch over my family, keep them safe in Your arms
Please Oh! dear Lord, let us not come to harm

May Your sweet Word enter deep within souls
Cleanse us, teach us, supply all our needs
Bring us to a realization of our state
And shelter us deep within, before it’s too late

Shelter us in the shadow of Your cross
Where we can find life, where You suffered loss
Pour out Your mercy and grace, show us how
To ask for forgiveness, for sins past, future, now

Cover our home, our lives and our thoughts
Our speech, our minds and all that falls short
Of the glory of God, Lord of lords, King of kings
May wondrous in-awe praises, our mouths always sing

Lord, how we need you, Your compassion and full joy
Need You to flow through us, Your Salvation to enjoy
Teach us the fear of God ever-more
That we might not fear man, circumstances or any closed door

Oh! precious Saviour, may Your Spirit direct us
May Your presence, Your freedom, always surround us
Help us to remember to number our days
And may the light of Your Word bring us in step with Your ways

You Took My Thorns (A Poem or A Song of Thankfulness)

You Took My Thorns

You have poured
Your love
Over my
Rose petal heart
A heart that
You softened
A heart
Torn apart
You took
All my thorns
Added them
To Your crown
And now that
They’re gone
I can but
Only bow down
My God
My Saviour
My Redeemer
My life
You’ve poured
Your sweet fragrance
Over every
Rosy beat
Of my heart
And I’ll forever
Thank and praise You
With each
Perfumed breath
For each day
Now presents
New blossomed
So hold me
And place me
In the fellowship
Of love
And may
I forever
Be in
Your Bouquet

Little Girl with Christmas Tree in the Snow

Dear Papa, dear papa
Wake up, wake up
It’s Christmas morning
And I hear the carollers calling
Singing and praising in the streets all aglow
Dear Papa, please sing and praise with me
And we’ll join in the street harmony
Oh! We’ll join in the street harmony

Dear Mama, dear mama
Wake up, wake up
It’s Christmas morning
And I’ve been awake all night
Wondering if there’s a present for me
Dear Mama, is there a present for me
Under the glistening Christmas tree
Oh! Under the glistening Christmas tree

Dear child, dear child
We’re awake, we’re awake
And yes, it’s Christmas morning
Let’s first bow our heads
Give thanks for everything we have
Dear child, let’s give thanks, then we’ll see
See what’s under that old Christmas tree
Oh! See what’s under that old Christmas tree

Released and Rewarded

Released and RewardedBrush the cobwebs away Lord
The ones that entangle my heart
Brush the cobwebs away Lord
Of things of the world …
I want no part

No part of the pressure Lord
That continually wants more
No part of the pressure Lord
The beautiful treasure above …
Help me to store

Treasure eternally mine Lord
Your hand, it does reward
Treasure eternally mine Lord
Free gifts sent with love …
Praise to the Lord

Two Little Heart Birds (Sadness and Joy)

Singing Blue Bird

When your heart is feeling sorrow

When your heart is feeling blue

Sing with all your might, as able

Sing ’cause He’s making all things new

When your heart feels like it’s breaking

When your heart can contain no more

Sing one little note and this will soon be

Overflowing with praises from His abundant store

Sadness comes when least expected

Sadness does not need a theme

Songs on the other hand lend themselves to

Fill with joy, your heart, your dream

‘Abandon’ in “Fragrance from the Spring”

The Fern

‘Silently the breezes blow

And the dew falls softly down

Where a carpet of sweetly-scented flowers

Receives for itself a crown

Whispering over babbling brooks

Showing little stones beneath the flow

The moss does cling, the birds do sing

One day His love we’ll know

The early morning reigns triumphant

Misty evening brings darkness and shower

Before too long, jubilant song we’ll hear

And with abandon, live in His power

The baby deer so perfectly adoring

Newness of forest floor

Trees of mercy, shelter and feed

His creatures with His store

Abandonment of truest desire

We with all creation, adore

And on the rolling hills and plains

Praise rings out forevermore’

Forever Filled With Silent Peace

Follow Him

‘The waves were apounding and

The noise was astounding

Upon turbulent waters so bare

And there was no peacefulness reigning

In a heart that was draining

Deep down in the depths of despair

and yet

Peace prevailed on the silvery seas

If one lived to praise on their knees

The turbulence was stilled

And the storms were contained

In a life where He reigned

And with love eternally filled’

I Have to Say Goodbye to My Daddy Today

I have to say goodbye to my Daddy today
He leaves on the night-time train
Yes, I’m all grown up and yet
It still causes deep anguish and pain

Does this pre-emptiness also touch his heart
As child tears like an abandoned river flow?
‘Tis early morning and the sun is hidden
And as my writing stalls … he’s preparing to go

He’s shared our lives for two blessed years
And how blessed they seem only now
Oh! How life is taken so shamefully, sadly for granted
As each tick of the clock to time bows

Five summers, four winters, four autumns, five springs
Ago; my mother, his wife, she did die
Three summers, two winters, two autumns, two springs
Ago; his son, my brother … to him we also had to say goodbye

And so, in painfulness/numbness, I try
To absorb what is truly happening
For in a few short hours, as the precious moments fleet past
At the railway station, lives will separate with departing

That’s it … my childhood family will be no more
With me in this great heartland
The vastness of ocean will separate us
My tears lessen the depth of sand

For as the droplets of deep, deep sorrow
Fall, and will fall enveloping each breath
My childhood sense of security
Once again is broken as in death

The death of a loved one as only you can love
So in love with, that eternity lights it with gold
I know I am mourning; but life, it wills on
‘Tis but another story endless waves will carry as of old

But today is today, it will go away
And I praise God, the Lord’s mercies are new
I don’t know what His mercies will lovingly bring this day
I love Him so dearly … another memory captured through and through

I thank you dear Daddy, I thank you dear Father
Two wonders the Lord has gifted to my life
But still as my earthly love of father crosses distant lands
The thought of separation cuts my heart like a knife

… the clock, it steams forward
And I cannot stop it. Swallowing time, it marches forth
‘Twill soon be that bittersweet moment – say goodbye
A few smiles, bear hugs … for all love’s worth

As many read this, the train will have long gone
And my Daddy will be on his way
Back to his beloved earthly homeland
Where his longing thoughts did forever stray

My Dad, he needed to go back … go back
To his ‘childhood’ memories – England
Needed to feel the distant soil once more
Under his restless, battle-torn feet again

I feel like I’ve lost him; but I know it has pained him
Watching others living out his life’s dreams
Yes, it’s so hard to let go, when heart strings do tug so
And childhood presents of mind past, drift away with the streams

Praying for all who have lost loved ones
All who are losing loved ones
All who have had dreams shattered
All who need hope
Love, understanding, love.

Psalm 23
‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.’ KJV

Heavenly Father,
These last few hours I spend with Dad,
Be glorified Lord,
Hold our hearts in Your hands,
Catch our tears,
Hug us and never let us go,
In Jesus Name,
