He Meets Me

happy family father and son element vector

And He meets me where I’m at
Along the shoreline of each heartbeat
Seas roll in, He says, ‘No more’
‘Peace be still, feel My hand, not the heat’

And He meets me with each thought
Dispels every lie from perfect truth
Storms roll in, He says, ‘Don’t fear’
‘Let Me fill your mind with renewed youth’

And He meets me in each step
As I walk the path lit by His word
Sometimes, darkness closes in
He says, ‘Listen to the way you’ve heard’

And He meets me through my sight
Gives me beauty that’s too much to bear
And when I feel overwhelmed
He says, ‘’Tis for you, this love to wear’

And He meets me in each sound
Orchestral heights or softest quietness
A small, still voice can be heard
‘Through each trial, I’m always here to bless’

And He meets me in my heart
Breaking down the cold, mountainous wall
He says, ‘I love you, my child’
‘And I will answer you when you call’

Yes, He meets me everywhere
And I could go on and on and on
Through touch and smell
Through each word spoken
’Tis Him I lean upon

Stones of Emptiness

rocky heart
For every stone of emptiness
That’s been placed within your heart
May pearls of love replace them
May joy mend all that’s torn apart

For every confusing moment
When your mind feels null and void
May songs sing their melody
May peace’s sweet notes fill all destroyed

For every time of painful loss
Where each breath is hard to breathe
May unconditional hope
Bind life to your past’s sorrow-wreath

For every tear stained memory
Traumas enclosed in sadness
With compassion I give you
A bouquet of roses’ gladness

Inspired by Isaiah 34:11c “ … and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness”; Genesis 1:2a “And the earth was without form, and void …” and God’s deep love for us, not wanting us to hurt.

There is a River

bach creek river

There is a river of love and peace
Where the healing waters flow
And when you place your feet within
Sweet blessings you will know

There is a river of joy and hope
Where the healing waters flow
And when you place your feet within
Your symptoms, they will go

There is a river which runs forever
And as it flows it whispers your name
Oh! Please, come down to the water’s edge
Take a step forward and you’ll never be the same

Reflection of Sorrow

Reflection of Sorrow

When your heart is grieving

And the tears forever flow

When the days seem endless

And how you’ll get through them

… You just don’t know

When pain becomes your only friend

And skies are no longer blue

Those tears of sorrow

Will cleanse tomorrow

And make all things brand new

Rescued But Still Needy

Rescued But Still Needy

Maybe many of you know this
But the Lord showed me something today
That even when He draws near us
The troubles may still be in the way

Oh! I know all about walking in fire
And how He lovingly shields us within
But today when I read about Peter
Here lies more treasure for us to win

For you see when He cried out “Lord save me”
The precious Saviour, His hand did reach
But there’s a little word that comes soon after
The word, ‘when’ and oh! how this can teach

For immediately He did rescue him
But it wasn’t until into the boat, they were
That the boisterous seas a-calmed
And the waves with His peace did a-stir

Yes, He comes to you in troubles
And helps you to see them through
So don’t always expect instantaneous release
Just know that He’s holding and protecting you

“And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water.
And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth Thou art the Son of God.”
Matthew 14:25-33 KJV

The Story of Affliction

The Story of Affliction

Blustery winds that do not cease
Can cause a heart to doubt
Blinding rain pouring ever relentless
It’s what the story of affliction’s about

Whirling, swirling, the mind’s in a state
And symptoms are swept so thoroughly through
Through every weary-worn battle of emotion
And that’s why I’m feeling so blue

The branches of my heart forsaken
Are snapped beneath the pressure
And tears fall swiftly to ground so trodden
Like leaves in a storm beyond measure

But in amongst the tortuous whirlwind
A path I see, it clears
My Saviour’s face is no longer hidden
He’s shone His light on all my fears

The Unseen Ballet of Life

This poem was inspired from a trial which brought forth a blessing whilst attending a ballet with my two beautiful girls last Saturday. I have a problem with heights (inner ear, balance issues) and didn’t realize that the booked seats (which we had waited all year to sit in) were ‘way up a steep hill, in the clouds’. Sadly I was unable to stay. They offered us a viewing room; but we couldn’t see as in the second row. They offered us separated seats on ground level; but they were taken. Needless to say, we didn’t get to see the much anticipated show. We were blessed to see a short ‘warm up’ before the show in the stage area though and afterwards had a lovely lunch together instead.

This post is for anyone who has ever suffered a panic attack. This is not my first; but I pray it will be my last. Only someone who has experienced them can ever comprehend how frightening they can be, even as a Christian. Praise be to God, that He sent help and I was released from the terrible situation. I thank my precious daughters for their love, concern and help also.
He Shines His Light and Reveals the WaySometimes we are caught
In circumstances impossible
Cannot see the light
Escape becomes …
Belongs to each and every breath

Cannot move
Falling; but not moving
Pressing deeper into stability
But still it wants …
Wants to take control

Hands, they cry
And face, it pallors
Loved ones try to comfort
Feelings overwhelming continue
Then out of nowhere
He sends help and
… it all becomes balanced

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1 KJV
