THE ROCK WAS STRUCK

water over ice

The Rock was struck, and out flew living water
The Rock was struck, and heaven’s treasures released
How wonderful to the dry parchèd pilgrim
Struggling to lift foot, because pride was increased

The Rock was struck, oh mercy and grace floweth
Man brought low; reluctant eyes summoned above
Heart whining; but body, provision kept whole
Refreshing streams soon quenched, abundant in love

The Rock was struck
The people cried
No more on self
Could one rely
The Rock was struck
But was it so
’Twas commanded
Say to this Rock
Anger prevailed
And promised land
Past veiled eyes sailed

The Rock was struck, instant relief was brought forth
But after awhile, stiff neck, hardened heart whined
We’re all the same, when one truly considers
Are we satisfied, or are we all just blind

The Rock was struck for you, upon Calvary’s tree
The Rock was struck for me, upon Calvary’s tree
This time though, out poured living water and life
Today, hear the truth people, and be set free

The Rock was struck
The people cried
No more on self
Could one rely
The Rock was struck
But was it so
’Twas commanded
Repent, believe
Sorrow prevailed
And promised land
His life, inhaled

1 Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

2 And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

3 And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!

4 And why have ye brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

5 And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

6 And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them.

7 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as He commanded him.

10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed Me not, to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

13 This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the Lord, and he was sanctified in them.

Living Water

beautiful scenery 02 hd picture

Should we never stop to wonder
Of our Saviour’s love for us
Should we never thirst nor hunger
Seek His pardon, that, we must

When our very lives are draining
Into the sea of no return
When we feel like we are drowning
Living water flowing heals us, to You we turn

Please let your Living Water flow
Throughout our lives and in those we know
Cleanse us with Your Living Word
We praise the Lord for the moment first heard

Thank you for drawing us from the darkened pit
Thank you for causing our paths to be lit
Lit by the light of Your immutable Way
Take our hands we might falter, a promise forever, be our stay

Upon the path scattered with countless treasures, love and gold
Too much, too beautiful and in our hands they unfold
For these perfect gifts would slide right out of our lives
Unless our hand is in Your hand, held by scars of strife
-And they will only be ours, when they rest in Your life-

May This Prayer Entwine Your Family Tree

Family Tree Prayer

Dearest Heavenly Father,
I pray that the True Vine (Jesus) wrap around and protect our family tree.
Comfort us,
Feed us,
Support us,
Save us.
Lift us and place us beside streams of Living Water.
And may every leaf (Thy precious word) upon the True Vine hold sweet healings for each life in this tree.
May Your strength hold us amidst the storms of life.
May Your peace settle upon each decision we need to make.
May Your love flow in and through each heart.
Each battered heart.
Each hurting heart.
Each heart that doesn’t even know there is trouble.
Each heart that doesn’t know and acknowledge You.
Forgive us.
And may the fragrance of Your love envelop us.
May Thy joy and not the world’s joy fill us … sustain us.
And Your hope … keep us.
In the mighty Name of Jesus,
Amen.

My prayer for each family.
My family.

Security in Troubled Times, Psalm 91 and My Poem ‘Through the Fire’

Shelter from the Storm 2

THROUGH THE FIRE
Blessed Saviour,
In this fiery trial You are,
Taking our hands and our hearts,
Protecting us from despair,
Leading us through the furnace,
Quenching the heat with living water,
Strengthening us always daily,
Sheltering us from billowing flame,
Catching us should we stumble,
Feeding us with food eternal,
Loving us so abundantly,
Forgiving us as we don’t deserve,
Keeping us with comfort and hope.

Blessed Saviour,
In this fiery trial we are,
In this fiery trial we are tried,
Thank you for Your presence Lord,
Thank you for Your promises Lord.

In this fiery trial no burn will touch us,
No scar will burden us,
No fear will hurt us,
No heat will scorch us,
No circumstance will break us,
Not completely; but mold us,
Weaknesses will melt away,
Hidden and known sin will be burnt off,
Things that mar our walk with Jesus,
Will fall to nothing on ground beneath us,
And love will win, His love and honour,
Grace and mercy will clothe us, meet us,
Loving Father, to this we offer,
Sheltered in Your eternal togetherness,
Yes, we will come through this fire of trial,
In strength, in health, in life. Hallelujah.

Psalm 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

HE CAN TURN THE MIGHTY RIVER (A Song of Hope)

violent river

He can turn the mighty river
Send His love through all mankind
Still He listens when I cry out
The only One who can still my mind

He stills the raging waters
He leads me safely through
He calls the waves with power
Lift your arms and worship anew

Every drop in every ocean
Every moonlit stream
Every dwindling flow of drought-worn river
He drops His mercies from heavenly realm

Yes, He can turn the mighty river
He can turn the wayward heart
He’s just listening for my prayer
To acknowledge need and love impart

Flowing
Flowing
Over boulders of pain
Boulders keeping me from loving Him
Yet His love flows around them just the same

Turn the mighty river, Lord
Bring the source, lay it out in my heart
Turn the mighty river, Lord
Pour healing water in and through
This dried out old part
The part that only cries dry tears, Lord
Banks of courage and flow of hope
They have gone
Left alone and no longer nourished, Lord
Oh! May it once again wind toward heaven and home

Yes, He can turn the mighty river
He can turn the wayward heart
He’s just listening for my prayer
To acknowledge need and love impart

So I prayed the prayer of endless need
The need that will heal what sin tore
The need that only His reign can pour down
And fill joy’s riverbed in my heart once more

And He called the empty rain to cease
Told me everything will be alright
He dispelled the storm with His peace
Now my darkened day is no longer night
My darkened day is no longer night
‘Cause with Jesus all things turn out right

Bread of Redemption … Food of Life

Bread of RedemptionYou have given me faith
You have given me life
You have given me sunshine
You have given me shelter
You have given me all
You have given me life.

The good seed is planted
The soil hungry, searching
In the hidden thoughts
Of my heart
Little to start with;
But with sunshine and rain
You always send
I receive
It is nourished day by day.

I must water and let it see
The light each day
Or otherwise what it has become
Will become no more.
Weeds and evil thoughts
Dryness and grudges
Will stop the good seed
From growing and growing
And
Producing good fruit
To be shared with others
Those whose fruit bowl is empty
Those who need to be fed
With Your truth and Your love.

Your hand reaches down
And waters the garden
In my heart.

The garden
Where love is abound
And
Watering-can sprinkles
And sunrays do shine
On every good seed
Where obedience is found.

The Sea of Love

The Sea of LoveDraw me out like the tide, Lord
Into the sea of love
Let ripples of Living Water, Lord
Wash me and lift me gently to You above

Swells of moonlit ocean spray
Cleansing and setting free
Oh! Lift me closer to Thee, Lord
As deep unto deep sings to me

Further and further, keep drawing Lord
I’m now as smooth as smooth can be
I’m shining in Thy reflection, Lord
And this grain of heaven’s sand takes her place
Takes her place in Your golden sea
