Prompted to write this after reading about a pastor being on a plane and wondering why, in the midst of a terrible storm, all around were in fear, except for a little girl who was totally at peace … When questioned why, she said “Cause my Daddy’s the pilot, and he’s taking me home”.

earth floating in the ocean

I see the darkening skies
They suddenly surround me
Lightning flashes vehemently
The thunder brings widened eyes

I grasp my neighbour’s firm hand
I wipe the sweat from my brow
But still, through this storm we plow
Miles to go, until we land

Looking all around, through tears
I see fear’s face a-laughing
Dread joins fear, throws in mocking
The evil one smiles and jeers

You call yourself a Christian
Well, where is your God right now
Give me your heart, I’ll allow
My peace as your physician

You’re being doubleminded
Do you really trust your God

Enough … ’Twas

Then I sensed His saving rod
Break through where I’d been blinded

My God, He’s here, yes He’s here
Right here, and right by my side
Through storms, any storm I’ll hide
’Cause perfect love casts out fear

Go away you peace stealers
In cars, in boats, and in planes
Father has broken all chains
Bondage gone, He’s the Healer

Oh! He’s taking me home, to the home my heart longs for
Storms may gather, and threaten; but I’m safe in His arms
Darkness may linger, and the world set off false alarms
But it’s Father, through Jesus, by Holy Spirit’s war
Yes, it’s Father, through Jesus, by Holy Spirit’s war
