SAYING GOODBYE FOR NOW …. and I CRIED FOR HELP, YOU LIFTED ME (A Song) …. and Fragrance from the Spring

To my dearest blogging friends,
I feel the time has now come to have a rest from posting. My reason for leaving is that I find I am becoming increasingly consumed by writing and the time it takes to type up so many poems etc and complete the posting, then read everybody’s posts (feel bad if I don’t), reply etc etc etc … you all know what I mean … it’s taking a toll on my health spending so much time in front of the computer and I didn’t realize this until I recently had a week away from it and then started back and my symptoms became worse. This breaks my heart, as I have so much more to share and many, many more photos just taken; but it burdens me more and the sadness runs deep because I feel like I am no longer sharing what the Lord has given me to share. I am trusting that this is His leading and His timing is always perfect.  I have had such a rewarding time corresponding with such beautiful people and if I may mention just a few … Doug, Heidi, Skye, Callie, Sarah, Betty Jo, Kimmy, Sue, Angela, Deborah Ann, Sharon, Cubby, Ani, Wendy, Teresa (sorry if I’ve missed anyone who regularly visits) … to all of you mentioned here and everyone else, I am forever grateful for your friendship, encouragement and love. I pray that I will return to poetrycottage one day and continue on this journey; but for now I am leaving these two last posts with you … one a song, the other an acrostic.

I still have my website and will still keep the personalized poems available should anyone be interested. Anyone wanting to stay in contact please email me at poetrycottage(at)gmail(dot)com.

Sending my love and hugs to all who have shared this blogging dream … may the Lord bless you, your loved ones and your gift of writing. I am going to miss you all dearly.

I Cried for Help, You Lifted MeNote the expression on the left seagull’s face, so sad, broken, bereft … there’s bondage around its foot … the other is striding so gracefully, confident … its free … free from the bondage of man.  May we be likewise by the grace of God … free from the bondage of man.

Keep me in the present, Lord
Lift these weary feet
Keep me in Your presence, Lord
Where my faith, Your love meet

I oft did go awandering
My footsteps missed the turn
I cried for help, You lifted me
Sat me by Your feet to learn

Keep me in the present, Lord
Lift these weary feet
Keep me in Your presence, Lord
Where my faith, Your love meet

I love You Lord, this heart is Yours
And what becomes, will be
Please tie our hearts together, Lord
With chords of healing melody

Keep me in the present, Lord
Lift these weary feet
Keep me in Your presence, Lord
Where my faith, Your love meet

I trust You Lord, Your word secure
Forever, now, eternal, blessed
Stretch out Your arms, hold me close
This child will then find rest

Keep me in the present, Lord
Lift these weary feet
Keep me in Your presence, Lord
Where my faith, Your love meet

Yes, keep me and hold me Lord
In Love’s bleeding heart of the King
Keep me in Your presence, Lord
Two hearts beating with fragrance from the Spring

Following the footsteps
ose petals on my path
ll strewn about so prettily
uarded with the breath of life
aise the perfect question
ching in my soul
earer to Thy heart You lead
aught in worldly turbulence
ver will You hold?

Fragrance from the Spring so pure
ims my puzzled way
nly through Thy dying breath
y end has become my beginning

Thorns amidst the petals now
ide mingled underfoot
verything is better now, ‘cause Thy fragrance of love abounds

Springs of joy well up inside
ride takes a tumble downwards
usted cracks in a distant life gone by
nstead of cutting relentlessly, painfully
ow are filled by the Potter’s hand
one forever, ‘cause He’s restored me by His sweet healing hand

There is a Wedding Dress Made Especially For You (A Little Something for the Ladies)

flower bouquet leaf

Tiny, little tulle buds, dripping fragrance pure
Cover you with sunlight, His face, a sunbeam cure
You’re cleansed with the Almighty’s blood, spotless and pure
Heaven’s gracious choir … singing notes, angelically pure

Are your robes of floral tinges, faded shades of white?
Are your veils sometimes depleted of your precious Saviour’s light?
Bring yourself to Jordan, for then you’ll be clearest white
Clothed and ready for marriage, endowed in whitest-white

Jewels of unheard colours, await your head to crown
A beautiful frock of righteousness, never to weigh you down
For He gathers your tears … heals and moulds … shapes for you a crown
Each bearing life’s own hidden gems, now crystals for your crown

There is a Rose so Sweet

There is a Rose so SweetFragrance, fragrance, softness and love
Heaven sent fragrance sent from above
Lord, I thank you for this beautiful day
Lord, I thank you for this beautiful day

Today we live
What we shaped yesterday
And dream for tomorrow
So may the rosebuds of yesterday
Be the blooms for today
And the fragrance of tomorrow

A Family Prayer

A Family PrayerLord, You are Light, You are Love, You are Life,
Fill me with pure breath, pure knowledge and delight,
Watch over my family, keep them safe in Your arms,
Please Oh! dear Lord, let us not come to harm.

May Your sweet Word enter deep within souls,
Cleanse us, teach us, supply all our needs,
Bring us to a realization of our state,
And shelter us deep within, before it’s too late.

Shelter us in the shadow of Your cross,
Where we can find life, where You suffered loss,
Pour our Your mercy and grace, show us how,
To ask for forgiveness, for sins past, future, now.

Cover our home, our lives and our thoughts,
Our speech, our minds and all that falls short,
Of the glory of God, Lord of Lords, King of Kings,
May wondrous in-awe praises, our mouths always sing.

Lord, how we need you, Your compassion and full joy,
Need You to flow through us, Your Salvation to enjoy,
Teach us the fear of God ever-more,
That we might not fear man, circumstances or any closed door.

Oh! precious Saviour, may Your Spirit direct us,
May Your presence Your freedom always surround us,
Help us to remember to number our days,
And may the light of Your Word bring us in step with Your ways.

Hear My Cry

Hear My CryUnder the merciful gaze of love
My heart is open, crushed and sad
I have come to realize that through it all
Only Jesus is hurt when my life falls

Help me to recover my poise
In Christ I live, and not for nought
Healing balm please Lord, do apply
For very soon this life is nigh

Heal me with the fragrance of roses
Heal me with sweet scents of rosebuds
May the lily cover my proudness
Cover my sense of guilt and shame

Lift the cloud of weariness yonder
From this weak and burdened frame
For this cloud remains a long time
Oh! When will Your sweet lightness shine

Please, dear Father, should I wander
Through this wilderness of thine alone
Lift this cloud, I shall not falter
Lead me on, for this Thy cloud came

A Light, It Shineth

LightBelongeth us to Him, the King?
Then down on bended knee we bow
Surrendering our total, very being
All we have is forever, now.

Sing Oh! glorious saints of His
Bring praises, praises; cry aloud
Shelter in His righteousness only
Watch for He cometh in a cloud.

Dare we cast our glances downwards?
Following where our feet have been
Forever heaven-wards shall we be watchful
Eye shall then see what no eye hath seen.

Delivereth us, our beautiful Saviour
Into pastures, green with love
Oh! Your mighty saving presence
Sent from our dear Father above.

The Ribbons of Time

Scarlet Ribbons 2Winding through this heart of mine,
Satin ribbons, scarlet ribbons and twine;
Ribbons of softness, compassion and love,
Roughened, dry twine trying to choke the True Vine.

Flowing freely, bringing life with each thread,
Ribbons entwining my life,
with joy,
when I dread;
Of battles that rage and fight deep within,
Wrap ribbons of kindness round my favoured head.

Oh! Wrap the ribbons round my fam-ily,
Wrap scarlet ribbons through our lives of need;
Wrap the ribbons and hold us securely,
Safe in Your presence, forevermore, surely.

His Song

Look UpSoftly, softly sings my Saviour,
Sings my Saviour, soft to me,
Sending words of comfort daily,
Through the whisper of the trees.

I hear the bees a-buzzing,
Amidst the jasmine vine,
Sweet, perfumed snow-buds of fragrance,
A chorus so divine.

He’s in the falling dew,
That refreshes thirsting life,
He’s in the greatly chirping birds
Their songs announcing strife.

The blades of grass a-swaying,
In breezes He brings forth,
Carrying echoes of love and joy,
Peace flows down from upper north.

He brings music to my ears,
And causes me to hear,
For everything that has His touch,
Gifts of song, new life, brings near.

The golden harps of dawn,
The twilight dusky bells,
Little creatures just being themselves,
The dry leaves sailing effortlessly down,
The roses lifting sweet perfume,
The clouds a-billowing past,
The distant cry of a lonely dog,
The beat of a winged butterfly,
The lorikeet, the kangaroo,
…. Sweet melody in a kitten’s purr.

My Lord, my Lord, Thou art beautiful,
Open mine ears so I will perceive,
This pure delight, this spotless sight,
Singing songs of pure love … I receive.

The Floating Rose

blessing in adversity
Should we ever
Cease to know
How our Saviour
Loves us so
Then ‘tis time
To reassess
Reasons why
We don’t feel blessed
For He has promised
In His Word so grand
Promised to us
Before breath was planned
To love us forever ….

Through the fires of trial
Through the golden, still days
Through suffering a short while
…. He pours His love endlessly

So take a leaf from the ever-new garden
Without question it sings His praises
And even when the thorns appear
Love’s shed in the roses and daisies

Am I Listening?

Am I ListeningI cannot explain
This emptiness, this pain
I long for Your presence
But feel it has left me

I feel so hollow
So alone, by myself
I’m hurting, dear Lord
And Your Word seems so distant

I read; but nothing is planted
I see words; but they allude me
I hear hymns; but they are for others
I need You, dear Lord, forgive me

Into tribulation we fall
Bringeth patience and
Experience that we might hope
Oh the love of God
To us You have given
Freely, freely
The gift of all time
Lord help me
To stop handing it
Handing it back to Thee
Oh! May my heart be joyful
And graciously accept grace
You have given Your life
Manifest in me

You have promised never to leave me
You have promised to always protect me
Rain down Your healing, Lord
Wash me afresh
I know I can never be clean enough
Looking through my eyes
Your eyes are pure, and Your light is golden
It shines through my heart
In which Your dear Son is hidden
It’s not me, I can do nothing
To enter Your Kingdom
I surrender my all, to You, my all is given
