Challenge Me

Challenge Me

Challenge me, dear Lord, to never let You go
Challenge me, dear Lord, my love to always show
When all and everything around me abandons my need and is lost
Draw me dearest Father, nearer to Thee, at all cost

For You paid an excruciating price for me
When Your Son hung so majestically upon that precious tree
Majestic in Your power and in eternal aim
For me to live, He endured such unimaginable pain

Challenge and convict my oft backsliding heart
So that nothing in this world will ever tear us apart
And together eternally, we shall always be
Send Your warmth to melt, mend, to reshape me

Father, please challenge, challenge me

When Going Isn’t Easy

girl at night running
Well I asked You Lord, to send me
But I held on with all my might
To every thing that I knew was safe
I wasn’t about to give up without a fight

How did this happen Lord
When did this happen Lord
Who or what challenged the way?
I came to You, as a lamb bereaved
And cried out, please let me stay
Stay in Your presence, stay in Your life
Be preserved for eternity
You had given me this blessed right I knew
So what did I do; but turn in flight

And I didn’t see it coming
I thought all was good and free
But what I failed to realize
Was that the enemy was watching me
And quietly, subliminally
The world’s treasures led me astray
Oh! I was still worshipping, praying
And had You in my thoughts
Yes faithfully, each and every day

And then at the appointed time
Oh! Please Lord, not again
Your Word did confront, convict
My heart was laid wide open
All idols were burnt, withdrawn
Hopelessness departed and Love, You replaced all
My prayer, dear heavenly Father
May this finally be the time of Thy will
Finally be the time, that my feet stay in step with Thine

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send,
and who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8

I DON’T WANT TO BE LIKE MARTHA ANYMORE

Praying Girl

Chorus
I don’t want to be like Martha
Anymore, anymore, anymore
I don’t want to be like Martha
Captive to every fear and chore
I just want to be like Mary
At Jesus’ feet upon the floor
I just want to be like Mary
And listen at heaven’s healing door

Draw me to Thy voice
Draw me to Thy word
Draw me to the sweetest thing
These ears have ever heard

Close my eyes to see
Close my mouth to speak
Close every door open
Strengthen all that is weak

Chorus
I don’t want to be like Martha
Anymore, anymore, anymore
I don’t want to be like Martha
Captive to every fear and chore
I just want to be like Mary
At Jesus’ feet upon the floor
I just want to be like Mary
And listen at heaven’s healing door

Only in You is peace
Only in You is joy
Only You can love release
And turn all hatred’s ploy

Guide me to my place
Guide me to Thy feet
Guide away from all that takes
My heart from Thy heartbeat

Chorus
I don’t want to be like Martha
Anymore, anymore, anymore
I don’t want to be like Martha
Captive to every fear and chore
I just want to be like Mary
At Jesus’ feet upon the floor
I just want to be like Mary
And listen at heaven’s healing door

Luke 10 KJV
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that He entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard His word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, Lord, dost Thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

MAY WE FEEL THE TEARS LIKE MARY (A Song from a Breaking Heart)

jesus crucifixion cross

O the depth of pain within
As Mary watched her son pass by
Tears of a mother’s love, O Jesus
Tears which only God could dry

Chorus
May we feel the tears like Mary
May they wash our hearts, my heart
Wash all doubt, unbelief and worry
‘Cause two hearts were torn apart

To see One so pure and spotless
Pass before her eyes, our eyes
Can we fathom what He was doing
Or are we blinded by the evil one’s lies

Every tortured step He took
Left a hollow for tears to fill
Tears falling from repentant hearts
Tears which witness Him still

Chorus
May we feel the tears like Mary
May they wash our hearts, my heart
Wash all doubt, unbelief and worry
‘Cause two hearts were torn apart

O Jesus, each breaking heartbeat
That You gave in love for glory
Has healed and given so much hope
And we still feel the tears like Mary

HOW MANY BEATS OF MY HEART (A Song of Conviction)

HOW MANY BEATS OF MY HEART

How many beats of my heart
Have turned and walked away
How many beats of my heart
Have heard You cry out, stay
How many beats of my heart
Have walked the path my way
O how many beats of my heart
From birth until today

Listen, my beating heart
His word is here to stay
Watch, my beating heart
‘Tis a dangerous game you play
Listen, my beating heart
Conviction won’t go away
O today, my beating heart
Harken and don’t delay

‘Cause one day these beats will stand
Before the Saviour, grand
And every beat of the heart
Of an answer, He will demand

O beating heart refrain
From all that He distains
He’s given clear advice
Not once, not twice; but thrice
Father, Son and Spirit
In One arise to say
O beating heart please listen
O beating heart please listen
To heaven’s heartbeat
Heaven’s heartbeat
It beats loudly for you this day
