LET’S TURN THIS ALL AROUND (Song Lyrics)

peace dove window glass

The days are growing darker and darker
It is taking more and more strength to see
So much is happening daily, hourly
How will this affect friends, family, me

It’s not too late
Whilst there is breath
To turn this all around
Around
Father waits for us
Waits for us
That we be found
Living and moving and being in Christ

Threats of war, earthquakes, viruses not seen
Told to do this, do that, follow blindly
Faces once smiling, now crudely concealed
No more hugging allowed, sadness set free

Words no longer flow amongst our friendships
Relationships have changed much, doors have closed
And yet, strangely through it all, love prevails
And all that’s hidden is being exposed

It’s not too late
Whilst there is breath
To turn this all around
Around
Father waits for us
Waits for us
That we be found
Living and moving and being in Christ

Yes, the Lord knows the hearts of everyone
Nothing we are thinking, can escape Him
Man cannot plan, deceive, confuse mankind
Without Father’s knowledge, He’ll reveal them

2 x
Let’s turn this all around
Around, around
Church, rise up, you’re on solid ground
Let’s take our armour and stand firm
The battle is the Lord’s, shout it out

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE, DEAR FRIEND

confusion bd

In this changing time of uncertainty
In these ever-changing days
Where do you seek your peace, oh!
Are you trusting in your own ways?

Do days seem longer, more hours to fill
Is the night even darker
Have you lost your closest love
Do you struggle, growing weaker

Food and essentials flying off the shelves
Told to stay at home and rest
Social distancing for all
The new feeling close that is best

Every country suffering differently
Still, everyone affected
Jobs lost, households torn apart
Some families reunited

Beaches and shopping centres, so much closed
The sun still shines, the waves crash
Online sales go through the roof
Endless wipes go out with the trash

Where do we go from here, dear friend
Where do we go from here
Will the air ever clear, dear friend
Will the air ever clear
What will we do when it’s over, dear friend
What will we do when it’s over
Will it ever be the same
Will it go back to normal
Sane
Will it ever go back to sane
Can you tell me
Do I really want to know
Will we ever know the same
No, I don’t think so

Longest queues ever for aid and supplies
And some don’t see eye to eye
Yet some seem unfazed, no fear
Why, have you ever wondered why

Homes are stockpiled, where shall we store it all
Will we use everything
Hearts are breaking and broken
Tears they flow, it’s so hard to sing

The streets echo their stillness, vacancy
No-one sees flashing neons
The air is so much purer
Snow-capped range no more illusions

Out of this deep sadness will come beauty
Somehow, somewhere, yes, some time
Dear friend, look up, see the truth
And take heart, through this uphill climb

One day when this is all over, look back
See how strong you have become
Know you are being held close
With help from above, you have won

Where do we go from here, dear friend
Where do we go from here
Will the air ever clear, dear friend
Will the air ever clear
What will we do when it’s over, dear friend
What will we do when it’s over
Will it ever be the same
Will it go back to normal
Sane
Will it ever go back to sane
Can you tell me
Do I really want to know
Will we ever know the same
No, I don’t think so

Lost Prayer

Lost PrayerWhen prayer has gone amissing
And you don’t know what to say
When circumstances threaten
To block or mar your way
It may be that you are unwell
It may be that you’ve wandered
It may be influence from many others
Or it may be that your voice has floundered
Words they seem to have disappeared
And lost their way from a confused heart
You know you want to talk to Father
But finding them is tearing you apart
You know He’s there and waiting
Waiting for your pitiful cry
Waiting to place His arms around you
But the silence has you wondering why
Oh! Lord Jesus please break the chains
From off this quivering thought
And release my heart’s desire to see You
Release me Lord into Your presence
… so this dry prayer
Will flourish as the springtime
Fragrance lifted to You on high
Fragrance lifted, others gifted
And prayer released … so this urgency is never for nought
