Who will ring the Christmas bells And fill the streets with cheer Little children, do gather round And break silence from off the year
Who will ring the Christmas bells And fill our hearts with joy Little children, do gather round Calling every sweet girl and boy
Who will ring the Christmas bells And fill our homes with hope Little children, do gather round And dance along with skipping rope
Who will ring the Christmas bells Tinkle – ling – ling – ling – ling – ling Christmas bells oh! let them ring Tinkle – ling – ling – ling – ling – ling
Singing round the piano on Christmas Eve
Snow is gently falling in amongst the leaves
Soon ‘twill be midnight and all will be in bed
Sing softly, so softly women first and then the men
Lift voices, lift praises little children now join in
And we sing la la la la hallelujah
La la la la hallelujah
And all through the night, those melodies released
Fill Christmas hours with sweet love and sweet peace
Presents wait silently for the children to awake
And when sunshine floods the home with Christmas morn
Treasures light up the decorations we so yearly adore
And we sing la la la la hallelujah
La la la la hallelujah
Now we sing round the piano on Christmas Day
And into our hearts the music has again found its way
Overnight the snow has left a winter’s dream
The children run outside and laugh with Christmas glee
And love is captured on the notes so lovingly set free
Sing softly, so softly
Women first and then the men
Lift voices, lift praises
Little children now join in
And we sing la la la la hallelujah
La la la la hallelujah
Dear family and friends, It’s been a very busy, beautiful year filled with much love; but also life’s tears. The highlight for us was the stunning wedding six months ago, where two precious hearts became one. Life is a gift. A gift we are given. To find another to love, is a blessing beyond love. Some of you don’t celebrate Christmas. I still send wishes to you for a wonderful season. Some don’t celebrate because they don’t know Jesus. Others because they do, and believe it’s too worldly. I’ve been in both places. We have a very simple one now. In saying all of this, I send Christmas blessings, and much love across the miles. The oceans that separate us, or the few streets around town. I want you to know how very much you mean to me. Each of you in different ways. Some I’ve grown very close to, you know who you are. You’ve walked with me through the valley. You’ve shared the joy on the mountaintop. Others … just a hello here and there. But you are all precious, and I’m so thankful for each and every one of you.
Have a beautiful Christmas with your loved ones. Know that you are loved. You have a heavenly Father. He’s waiting for you. He wants to bring Jesus into your life, as your Lord and Saviour. May you hear Him calling your name. May 2019 bring much healing where needed. Love Liana.
PS … I’ve attached a little ‘surprise’ for you. You’ll certainly be surprised when you hear it lol!! I absolutely love the hymn ‘O Holy Night’ … rarely a time goes past, and a tear doesn’t fall. So I wanted to sing it, and add it to my Christmas letter. I found some instrumental music with the lyrics on YouTube and sang over it. Then I was concerned about copyright. So back to the drawing board. I thought maybe I could just have the lyrics on the screen, and mute it. That was a mission in itself. Between trying to push the record button on my phone, and the play button on YouTube, only to find each and every version played at varying speeds, and with different lyrics. I kept getting ahead of myself. Sounds like my life. Anyway between that issue, I had these to also contend with … trying to record, so that no cars passed by our house, the cats or family didn’t want something, messages didn’t come in (with their arrival ping on the phone) etc etc at the same time … Like I said, a mission. On top of that I haven’t operatic lungs lol!! Finally it came to me, why don’t I just look for the lyrics on Google, and sing it at my own pace, which I did. Isn’t that just like … ‘All I need to do is look at the Word’. Big lesson in all of this. I hope you like it. It took quite a few attempts.
Is there joy deep within
Is there reason to sing
When those Christmas hymns touch
Your life’s sweet memories
Let the music begin
Let the carollers bring
All the warmth and love’s touch
Of Christmas jubilees
O Christmas in your heart, in your heart
Melts the coldness, and sheds a soft glow
Upon the sadness of the past year
Upon the gladness, all of the cheer
Brings the long drawn out days to a close
Kisses the season, with love to show
Kisses the season, sets hearts aglow
May the blessings find you
Dispel all shades of blue
That heart, if out of touch
Renewed by One who sees
Find yourself surrounded
Find yourself surely loved
Let the Saviour’s heart touch
And bring you to your knees
O Christmas in your heart, in your heart
Melts the coldness, and sheds a soft glow
Upon the sadness of the past year
Upon the gladness, all of the cheer
Brings the long drawn out days to a close
Kisses the season, with love to show
Kisses the season, sets hearts aglow
Dear Papa, dear papa Wake up, wake up It’s Christmas morning And I hear the carollers calling Singing and praising in the streets all aglow Dear Papa, please sing and praise with me And we’ll join in the street harmony Oh! We’ll join in the street harmony
Dear Mama, dear mama Wake up, wake up It’s Christmas morning And I’ve been awake all night Wondering if there’s a present for me Dear Mama, is there a present for me Under the glistening Christmas tree Oh! Under the glistening Christmas tree
Dear child, dear child We’re awake, we’re awake And yes, it’s Christmas morning Let’s first bow our heads Give thanks for everything we have Dear child, let’s give thanks, then we’ll see See what’s under that old Christmas tree Oh! See what’s under that old Christmas tree
Sometimes I go to a place I have been And remember the sweet joy Of yesteryear That is when Forgotten melodies arise Dreaming of a Christmas so long, long ago
And log fires a-crackling And snowflakes a-dancing And church bells a-ring-ring-ring-ringing And carollers singing Little children with eyes brimming Fill precious dreams of love and giving Of a Christmas so long, long ago
Dreaming of a Christmas so long, long ago I bring these December memories Those distant sweet memories To each and every Christmas Day ‘Cause each year’s sweet memories Will always become The Christmas dreams of so long, long ago
