Woops! Will the Real Little Velvet Nose Please Step Forward

Louie Bear Do you ever feel like someone else is trying to steal the spotlight?

Do you ever feel like someone else is taking credit for something you’ve done?

Do you ever feel like you’ve lost your identity and everyone copies what you thought was original about yourself?

Well there is hope …

Do not worry about what others have done … are doing … the Lord knows when you are sad, when you are hurting, when you are brokenhearted … when you feel betrayed.

… He knoweth the secrets of the heart.’ Psalm 44:21b KJV

‘Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.’ 1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV

Crushed Roses

cottage garden 9th April, 2013 017Roses oh! so beautiful
Roses oh! so sweet
Roses oh! so preciously laid
Laid at His bleeding feet

Roses crushed but beautiful
Roses bruised but sweet
Roses torn but preciously laid
Laid at His wounded feet

Roses oh! so beautiful
Roses full of beauty
Roses perfect in every way
Were scattered at His weary feet

Roses oh! so sweet
Roses full of glory
Roses the gift of perfection
Were scattered at His pier-ced feet

Yes, laid at the feet of the Saviour
Torn, bruised and crushed both were
But the fragrance so lovingly released
Covered lost love … and healed afar

A Greeting Card Verse for When You Need to Tell Someone How Much They Mean to You

red roseCover

Thank you for being the fragrance

Of the rose in my heart.

Without you

My heart is hurting.

But; my day is brightened

My day is more beautiful

My day is lighter, sweeter

With you by my side.

Praying you will be blessed this day, as you have blessed me.

in my e-book “Fragrance from the Spring”

The Story of Tic Toc the Clock and the Part Who Wanted to Live in the Past – or The Helping Hand (Another Poem for the Children)

Tic toc, tickety toc

Hands are going backwards

Forward two, back three

Tic Toc clock sighs as time spins forwards

“Big Hand to Little Hand.”  I said, “Big Hand to Little Hand”

You’re moving the wrong way

“I know, I know; but I’m having so much fun

And want to move time back to yesterday

Yesterday my hand was stronger

And nothing was an effort

Yesterday the sun shone brighter

And I could see which way to go

Yesterday I was so much younger

And time it moved much slower

Today my hand needs a hand to hold

And guide me round and round

Today the sun seems somewhat dimmer

And it’s hard to find my way

Today I’m older, the rhythm of time feels lost

And I can’t keep up with the hour”

Then Big Hand replied as he wiped tears from Little Hand’s eyes

“But your hand is in my hand so don’t worry, I’ll lead the way!

Time will march on … the sun’s here to stay

And together we’ll keep time moving forward

‘Little Deer, Little Deer’ in “Fragrance from the Spring” (A Little Something for the Children)

brown-bearWho is that little deer
Standing all alone?
Go over and say hello
Maybe invite him home

But Mama! You said
He’s not like us
And remember you said
Don’t make a fuss

It’s alright little one
Just because he’s different
His mother and father worry
That is what I meant

Okay Mama I’ll say hello
And invite him home for tea
That’s a good girl
And invite his mum for me

Hey Deer – Deer!
Over here!
Want to play
……. Do not fear
I’ll look after you

We could play games
And read stories too
Play hide and seek
And yell out …. Boo!

Would you like that?
Is that a smile I see
Come on, let’s go
Mama is waiting for me

So bring your mother
Bring her out into the sun
Sisters and father
It’s time to have some fun

And then on another day
We could have a swim
Can you swim Deer – Deer?

Oh! No!
I’ve scared him …….
What’s wrong, Deer – Deer?
I’ll teach you
If you have a problem

You’d like that!
Good then ……. it’s settled
When shall we start?
The sooner the better

So the very next day
After they had played and played
They went to the lake
And she taught him to swim

Thank you so much
Was all he could say
“Mum always worries
Because I can’t see
But now she realized
It doesn’t worry me!”

His Masterpiece, the Colours of Emotion

The Beauty of the Artist

Velvet pink through powder blue
Brings me back to thoughts of You
Shades of orange to poppy red
Fragments of a night-time shed

Scattered pearls of deepest iris
Foliage laced with blossom fragrance, ‘tis
Everything I in awe witness
The Artist’s masterpiece of lovingkindness

Lemon hues and orange crème
Woven with a sparrow’s dream
Silvery grey washes all away
And so, the beginning of a brand new day

The clouds roll in and cast their shadow
And my heart senses the ebb of sweet brightness go
Yet behind the heavenly sunless sky
My Saviour watches, I know He is nigh

So when the palette of my life, it fades
And each stroke of His brush, it lovingly raids
The very core of this, my believing heart
I look beyond the grey and embrace His divine art

‘Abandon’ in “Fragrance from the Spring”

The Fern

‘Silently the breezes blow

And the dew falls softly down

Where a carpet of sweetly-scented flowers

Receives for itself a crown

Whispering over babbling brooks

Showing little stones beneath the flow

The moss does cling, the birds do sing

One day His love we’ll know

The early morning reigns triumphant

Misty evening brings darkness and shower

Before too long, jubilant song we’ll hear

And with abandon, live in His power

The baby deer so perfectly adoring

Newness of forest floor

Trees of mercy, shelter and feed

His creatures with His store

Abandonment of truest desire

We with all creation, adore

And on the rolling hills and plains

Praise rings out forevermore’
