The Hurting Pen – A Poem for Struggling Writers

Cloud Raining Hearts

Off it goes again, the pen
Running from its paper friend
Doesn’t want to write you know
Expose emotions too hard to show

Every time it sees the lines
Lines on whiteness, it’s a sign
A sign that tells its heart to go
Too much pain, with tears in tow

So please tread carefully every time
When words flow freely, all in rhyme
Don’t space them all too closely together
Those love-torn memories, lost forever

And if you understand its plight
It won’t break down, won’t take flight
Instead it’ll write so beautifully
Fragranced letters which all the world will see

Meeko Lee McFluff (A Children’s Poem)

meekoWhen Meeky fell into the treacle jar
Dear Louie began to cry
He cried so much
His tears just stuck
Meekily Treakily, why oh why?

Don’t cry, don’t cry
Or else you’ll flood
This jar in which I’m jammed
Just find a rope or something like …
That bristly broom-broom over there

But Meekles, sobbed dear Louie Bear
That’s not a broom-broom-broom
If I use that, you’ll fall down flat
You’ll not only be in treacle; but a jam

Why! Why! Why!
The older cat spluttered out
Just grab it and then you’ll see

Well, okay then and off he went
To grab that bristly broom
And with both his paws
He pulled and pulled
Hang on
Hang on
Now Meeky’s nowhere to be seen!

Meekily, Meekily, Meekily Moo
Where are you … Meekily Moo?
Through sobs of meows he cried
But all he saw were toffee-coloured bubbles
Rising from the top of the treacle

Oh No! He’d told him … He’d told him
That the broom was not a broomy-broom-broom
Surely, surely Meeky should have known
That as he picked the broom-broom up
Dear Meeky … Well, he would just disappear
‘Cause that broom-broom, it was attached
With such a furry, furry match … His tail was what it was!
And now Meeky’s fat, very fluffy-wuffy tail
Had turned out so very, very yukky

Oh! There he is at last, at last
With a look of sticky glee
With his funny, now flat face he’d pushed
Through the bubbles he’d broken
Broken and pushed
Found his way to the side
And climbed out onto bestest friend Louie

Yikkity Yikkity Yuk Yuk Yuk
And now they’re both waddling like a duck

Bunny, Bear and Choo Choo Choo (A Children’s Poem)

Bear Hugging a Teddy Bear

Annie Bunny and Cyril Bear
Are best of friends without a care
They’re taking a train trip on Choo Choo Choo
And bringing lots of gooey yummies to share

Butterscotch bread and coconut pie
Ah! What sweetness, Annie said with a sigh
Laughing and singing they greet Choo Choo Choo
With great huggily-hugs and bounces on high

Into the tunnel and round the bend
Whistling so loudly ‘cause he’s their friend
Yes Annie and Cyril and Choo Choo Choo
Hope this fun, chuggily-chugs dream will never end

A Light, It Shineth

LightBelongeth us to Him, the King?
Then down on bended knee we bow
Surrendering our total, very being
All we have is forever, now.

Sing Oh! glorious saints of His
Bring praises, praises; cry aloud
Shelter in His righteousness only
Watch for He cometh in a cloud.

Dare we cast our glances downwards?
Following where our feet have been
Forever heaven-wards shall we be watchful
Eye shall then see what no eye hath seen.

Delivereth us, our beautiful Saviour
Into pastures, green with love
Oh! Your mighty saving presence
Sent from our dear Father above.

What’s New!

What's New

Dear friends,
Commencing 1st July I will be offering personalized poems, hence the paypal link on right. They will be available via email only. I think I need to take the next couple of weeks off until then just for managing to place it on my blog! I’m sure that it would take most people only a couple of minutes to do … but not me. Until then, would love to hear any thoughts or suggestions from you regarding my new venture.
God bless xxx
