STANDING BY THE SEASHORE (Song Lyrics)

child looking at the sea

Coming to a place where my heart beats, and is forever yours
I stand upon the shoreline, and listen to heaven’s applause
It’s taken me so long, the sand gently brushed all pain away
For me to finally hear Your voice, and say, I’m here to stay

O Lord, please hold my hand
A little child am I
I thought I knew it all
And now I may even cry
You found me
You brought me
You taught me all I knew
Standing by the seashore
I’ve been made brand new

Your sweet voice was always distant, and yet it was always there
Sometimes, even, O please forgive me, I thought You didn’t care
But now my eyes have been opened, to see what I couldn’t hear
That it’s with my heart I hear You, not with my physical ear

O Lord, please hold my hand
A little child am I
I thought I knew it all
And now I may even cry
You found me
You brought me
You taught me all I knew
Standing by the seashore
I’ve been made brand new

And Lord, now that I know the whole truth, the truth shall make me free
All who I am in Christ, all who I was created to be
You will show me, and as I gaze into Your beautiful eyes
I’m standing by the seashore, hearing Your voice instead of lies

You found me
You brought me
You taught me all I knew
Standing by the seashore
I’ve been made brand new

O Standing by the seashore
I’ve been made brand new
