YOU CHOSE ME

hands with hearts

I didn’t think I was good enough
Others had more worth
In my eyes I was second-class
But then You chose me

My ransom price You paid was priceless
I cannot fathom
Why would You want me, love me so
Yet You still chose me

I didn’t wear robes of righteousness
My face, void of joy
But You wrapped me in forgiveness
In love, You chose me

Jesus, in obedience You went
To the ready cross
Took my hand so I could witness
Why You did choose me

And together along Passion Road
At last I felt safe
But You were bowed with my burdens
Because You chose me

Squeezing my hand in love, I looked up
I couldn’t bear it
‘You don’t have to bear it, My child’
By faith you chose Me

To the cross, through the pain, through the night
The night-like hours, yes
I watched You mercifully die
Tears rolled, You chose me

You bore all my sins, past, future, now
To the cross, they nailed
But praise God, You defeated death
So glad I chose You

Jesus, You’re alive, yes, You’re alive
And now, so am I
All because You enabled me
That day to choose You

I no longer bear those sins of mine
Now they’re washed away
In rivers of unending grace
We chose each other

I didn’t think I was good enough
Others had more worth
In my eyes I was second-class
They’re lies, not the truth
