Near Thy Sweet Haven

storm above sea

My heart aches for you Oh! Lord, in perfection I adore
Perfection of Your endless grace, mercy given to distant shore
Guide me through the narrow gates, shelter me in the wildest storm
Unto me You have freely sent, in fondness perfect form
Unto me You have freely loved, brought my soul back to life and more

Be thou humble when in need
For need is known, and He will lead

Through the troubled nights of late, days are endless, and shadows surrender
Feeling like my prayer has wavered, return, return, return to sender
Neither I delight in and so I cry, send the saving light into the darkness
Let Your star-lights flicker inwards, lighting hope and filling starkness
Unto me be pleased, Your forgiveness, Your forgiving peace to render

Be thou humble when in need
For need is known, and He will lead

Teardrops nestle on Thy word, I have gone a-wandering lonesome
Teach me of Your gentle nature, come into my heart, my Saviour, come
I am weary; but You have promised, never in blindness my steps will be
So I follow Your footsteps, where’s there room for me, room for me
To place my restless foot in time with, Jesus, God’s only begotten Son
