Shipwrecked; But Never, Ever Broken

Thank you Karrol for liking this older post. It came at a perfect time for me and I pray it will bless many who find themselves in the sea of affliction.

canary islands shipwreck ship

The ship tosses violently upon the open seas
The Captain’s in control; but the crew are full of fear
And with every fresh onslaught, they all cower lower
The Captain, though, with commanding voice, says, peace be still

Likewise, peace be still, He speaks silently to our hearts
The storms of life may appear that they are shattering
The ship of our lives, our hopes, our dreams, our course, our lives
Take your eyes off the storm, rest in His words, you’ll come through

It is as though He says, the Prince of Peace is saying
Some days are highs, some are lows, you will rise, you will fall
You may be drenched with the tears that you shed, I’ll dry them
You may be parched by the heat you bear, I am the Son

So if you’re battling raging storms upon worldly waves
Your ship will break, there’ll be none to save when you cry out
But with Eternity’s Best upon Living Waters
Your heart may be shipwrecked; but never, ever broken

    1. Thanks Kathleen, here are the lyrics for those who don’t know them (and I was one!) …

      With Christ in the vessel
We can smile at the storm
Smile at the storm, smile at the storm
      With Christ in the vessel
We can smile at the storm
      As we go sailing home

      Sailing, sailing home
      Sailing, sailing home
      With Christ in the vessel
We can smile at the storm
      As we go sailing home
