THE EMPTY CHAMBER OF MY HEART (A Song for a Heart Without Joy)

THE EMPTY CHAMBER OF MY HEART

Three chambers of my heart are full
With so much faith and hope and love
But there is an empty chamber hidden
And a closed door keeps sweet joy trapped above

Chorus
O Lord, please send the key
Unlock my heart
Send forth Your joy into my sadness
May Your peace forever flood
The empty chamber of my heart
All the chambers of my heart

I need this joy so urgently
So faith and hope and love can sing
Don’t get me wrong, I’m forever thankful
But with joy, released praises could I bring

Chorus
O Lord, please send the key
Unlock my heart
Send forth Your joy into my sadness
May Your peace forever flood
The empty chamber of my heart
All the chambers of my heart

Like the ground needs tears from heaven
Like Your creation, melody
Like nature’s palette, pure colour divine
Faith, hope and love need joy’s fragrance to see

Chorus
O Lord, please send the key
Unlock my heart
Send forth Your joy into my sadness
May Your peace forever flood
The empty chamber of my heart
All the chambers of my heart

Joy tends the garden with roses
Joy cancels out affliction’s pain
Joy filters through and brings healing sunshine
Joy bursts forth like the gift of needed rain

Chorus
O Lord, please send the key
Unlock my heart
Send forth Your joy into my sadness
May Your peace forever flood
The empty chamber of my heart
All the chambers of my heart

O Lord I feel a softening
As my heart fills with love sublime
You have showed me where the key was hidden
It had been worn on fear’s chain all this time

Thank You Lord, You unlocked my heart
The locked door is now open wide
You’ve sent so much joy, it now fills my heart
And heaven’s joy now overflows inside

    1. I guess I don’t think about it like that … He gives me the title and away I go (in the Holy Spirit’s flow) … this was given to me early this morning before rising, I arose, wrote the first verse and let the rest follow, sometimes all done in around ten minutes, other times the words hit a few stones in the way of the flowing water … His gifts are peace laden … no effort … hugs Kathleen xxx

      1. Interesting that you say that, it is very similar for me except “titles” are very difficult!
For a good while I would submit the writing to a friend, who would then add the title and post it…often with an illustration ta’ boot!
Rarely disagreed with him, and as time went on…not at all.

        1. I always look at the ‘topic’ He gives me as the title and work from there. One place I do find difficult is titles for books. I have finally decided on one for my soft cover though … I kept thinking how can one be enabled to write so much and yet have so much trouble encasing the contents into one line; but there’s the answer isn’t it!
