THE BROKEN MIRROR OF MY HEART (A Song of Reflection)

THE BROKEN MIRROR OF MY HEART

Shards of brokenness fill my heart
And each piece glitters and bears a part
Of emotions entwined with sadness and pain
I fall to the ground, life will never be the same
O I fall to the ground, life will never be the same

Look, lift a piece, you won’t be hurt
Take it into the light, out of the dirt
Hold it up, hold it up, a broken life revealed
Let the warmth of the sun enter deep where it’s healed
O let the warmth of the sun enter deep where it’s healed

Chorus
So can you see yourself
Where pain once dwelled
Does the reflection of my emptiness
Open old memories on which you once dwelled
You’ve offered sweet love
And become the very part
Holding together
The broken mirror of my heart
The broken mirror of my heart

But now with your love’s tenderness
My brokenness has surrendered
Surrendered and it’s flooded, flooded with light
Allowing sweet joy to captivate yesterday’s night
O allowing sweet joy to captivate yesterday’s night

Chorus
So can you see yourself
Where pain once dwelled
Does the reflection of my emptiness
Open old memories on which you once dwelled
You’ve offered sweet love
And become the very part
Holding together
The broken mirror of my heart
The broken mirror of my heart

          1. “…in a recollection drawn from a day that had yet to be, a subtle breeze had gathered up fallen leaves…suitable stardust for a bygone October’s dream i mused. I heard the sounds of wind-chimes in the distance…shards of stained glass…swirled…around me.”-(excerpted from a ‘peek of radiance’, circa 1996 A.Gomez)
Reminded me of this poem of long ago.
            Peace.
