JESUS

JESUS

Jesus
As You hung
Upon that cross
Jesus
None other
Could take Your place
Jesus
Your love washed over
All standing there
Jesus
Each breath
Laced with pain
Jesus
Life blood oozing
Jesus
Heavier, heavier
Limbs aching beyond grief
Jesus
Pallor, thirst, shame
Mocked, cruelty witnessed
Jesus
For us, only us
You came
Jesus
Even the cross
Drank of that love
Jesus
Too much love
Yes, too much love
Jesus
Love poured out
Free for all
Jesus
Last breath
Last breath
Jesus
It is finished
You hear Him say
Jesus
No more
He’s gone
Jesus
Darkness
Surrender
Jesus
Pure light, new day
Life dawns reality
Jesus
Is alive
Died. Rose alive
Jesus

      1. What an awesome thought, Christ’s first breath as the Savior of the World! Gives me goose bumps. Love, N 🙂

  1. Large pain in this piece, and yet words for so many years did not seize my heart. I think you would agree Liana that it takes the sweet hound-dog of Heaven* to leave us broken by Christ’s Passion (*Holy Spirit), And then the broken ones help to mend others…Doug

    1. Such heart – in – awe beauty in His poetical gospel. Yes, we are broken with the brokenness of the cross, mended with the gift of salvation, the power of His resurrection. Thanks Doug.
