MAY WE FEEL THE TEARS LIKE MARY (A Song from a Breaking Heart)

jesus crucifixion cross

O the depth of pain within
As Mary watched her son pass by
Tears of a mother’s love, O Jesus
Tears which only God could dry

Chorus
May we feel the tears like Mary
May they wash our hearts, my heart
Wash all doubt, unbelief and worry
‘Cause two hearts were torn apart

To see One so pure and spotless
Pass before her eyes, our eyes
Can we fathom what He was doing
Or are we blinded by the evil one’s lies

Every tortured step He took
Left a hollow for tears to fill
Tears falling from repentant hearts
Tears which witness Him still

Chorus
May we feel the tears like Mary
May they wash our hearts, my heart
Wash all doubt, unbelief and worry
‘Cause two hearts were torn apart

O Jesus, each breaking heartbeat
That You gave in love for glory
Has healed and given so much hope
And we still feel the tears like Mary

  1. Liana, I think you’ve captured well the essence of grief that Mary held in her heart for her son (God’s Son). It breaks mine to imagine either of my boys in pain. Yet–what a loving and gracious gift that shed blood is for all who will believe.

    • Thank you so much dear Wendy … I cannot begin to comprehend the grief she and all who loved Him felt, seeing Him so tortured and mocked and yet within that horrific scene there was eternal peace. Blessings xxx
