March around my heart Lord
For there’s no other way
To bring the walls of faithlessness
Down, allowing faith to stay
March around my heart Lord
Sweet trumpet of forgiveness blow
Shout with love and righteousness
Let salvation flow
March around my heart Lord
For there’s no other way
For this heart of emptiness
To be filled with hope, I pray
And march around my loved ones’ hearts
March until it’s done
Then broken walls will cause
To rise, the blessing of Your Son
And when the walls are down Lord
And light floods the brand new day
Your love will overflow Lord
And heal another’s way
… the walls of a once torn and broken heart
… the walls of a once torn and broken heart
… walls now guarding love in a mended heart
… walls now guarding love in a mended heart

“So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.” Joshua 6:20 KJV
The march seems silly when we remember those quaking knees at the thought of the enemy ahead. But obedience, praise and trust teach their lovely lesson; and even hidden ones behind those formidable walls will serve our purpose, if it is also God’s purpose. (Psalm 37: 4)
